They will market this properly especially after Disney screwed up the John Carter marketing so bad.

(Note: That supermodel to the right really has Thor's attention! You'd think it would be Stark that was distracted.)

To be honest, Thor might be just as big of a womanizer as Stark giving his extensive history with multiple women.

Where is this?

I think this film will do ok. I think both The Amazing Spiderman & Dark Knight rises will be box office champs this summer.

I don't think so. I can see The Dark Knight Rises being a box office champ but I think The Amazing Spider-man will do worst than Spider-man 3 at the box office. The reboot came a little to soon after the last one and it might turn off a lot of the GA. Its going to do well at the box office jut not gangbusters. Avengers has to much buzz behind it to not the be a champ.

Perhaps you right. Batman is the most looked forward to Summer film according to different polls.

My first thought was "Man, Elektra wants on the team so bad she ditched the red in her outfit"

It is LA, but that's not Century City. It's the famous Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.

The marketing really has kicked up a gear. But that also worries me. Over exposure is a bad thing. Seeing Avengers plastered everywhere might make people sick of it.

It's kinda like GL. That movie was literally everywhere leading up to it's release. Look what happened.

But then again, the trailers for GL weren't exactly inspiring were they? lol

GL opened well. It tumbled after its OW because it was garbage

Avengers may be everywhere but it's not desperate advertising like GL was. GL was more like 'please, please, see our movie....pretty please.'

WB/DC knew they had a crap product in GL, they were desperate.

GL didn't do well because people realized how ****** it truly was and bad word of mouth spread.

I'm going to say...over 300 million domestic and between 600 to 800 million in foreign gross.

Confidently saying 900 million overall.

Absolutely true. I'm a big Green Lantern/Hal Jordan fan and I had been psyched for the movie before it came out. I planned to see it on the first Saturday after it opened, but on Thursday/Friday I read so many bad reviews from fans that I almost backed out. Since I love the character I decided to go anyway, thinking that I at least needed to support the movie. It was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever had in a movie. The mediocrity of it was painful to behold. If the early negative buzz almost turned off a major GL fan like me, I'm sure that casual filmgoers were well and truly warned away from it.

People blamed the actors, but I thought Reynolds, Lively, Strong, Rush, etc did the best they could with the material presented to them.

Campbell just isn't a Sci-Fi type director and the script was horrible. No amount of marketing could have saved that film from disaster.

Agreed wholeheartedly, Ryan Reynold was a good Hal Jordan in my opinion.
