So avengers made two million yesterday so I am guessing it will make about 5-7 million this week and 10-14 million this weekend

My guess for this coming weekend is $11,165,098 and 45.5% drop.

By the way is anybody else just seeing the sub forum titles? Like instead of seeing The Avengers sub forum title along with Marvel's The Avengers, The Avengers Sequals and The Avengers World sections showing I see The Avengers, Batman, Captain America, Ghost Rider, G.I Joe and ect sub forum titles. I know this happend a couple of months or so ago.

Well, for those that said Avengers wasn't a game changer, I guess you can just look to the fact that barely a month after release Warner shot their wad by trying to build up anticipation for Justice League again.

Especially since just last year, G. Jones dismissed the whole idea ( and kinda took a shot at the Avengers at the same time) Dude is eating crow now.

What the hell does she have to do with WB/DC or the Justice League?

SMH.

G. johns was Geoff Johns. My damn iPhone made the johns to jones.

That article is from 2010.

yes but we were referring to it because in 2010 they were saying they had no plans and saying that DC characters were "bigger" than Marvel's (whatever the hell that means), and that they didn't want to squash them into the same movie.

This of course is after the fact they were trying to do a JLA film in 2007, and it got shelved, and now that Avengers is the biggest superhero movie ever, they are changing their tune again.

Again, I have no problem with them making it, and the more CB movies the better, but I'm more tired of the spin job at Warner that goes on over this stuff.

You don't even need to read that article to know that their JL/WW movie plans were in response to the Avengers success...

They announced the plans after The Avengers has proven to be succesfull. Even a child could figure this out.

They have a responsibility to shareholders to do a JL movie. When Avengers hit, who didn't think WB wouldn't do a spin job? And even if it is a spin job, why does it matter?

We all knew this was coming.

^^ I don't really care either way...i'm just stating the obvious.

Avengers made 2.2 mil yesterday. Cool.

I'll take 10 to 15 mil a week a month out of release any day.

What's more impressive is that this is the first weekday that TA has topped TDK's daily gross(Memorial Day Monday doesn't count as it was a holiday). So summer weekdays for TA are here it seems and I suspect the margin between TA and TDK's daily cumulative gross will now get even wider than the $81.9M it's at already. If this continues then I'm feeling more optimistic about TA possibly scratching it's way to $659M DOM and knocking Titanic out of the #2 spot domestic.

I totally agree we knew it was coming. Now to they want it to make money or want it to be the next John Carter? Because the approach their taking it's more likely to be a John Carter.

But they can't do solo films to lead up to it. They have to strike while the iron is hot. I don't blame them one bit for going big out the gate.

Honestly, this all depends on Man of Steel. If it doesn't work, DC characters completely rebooted from scratch...and that would be how you get your solo lead up films.
