THE BATMOBILE THREAD

Anyone see the Valhalla they are using in the next Bond?

Growing up the Batmobile was presented as a sleek racer with cutting edge tech.

I kinda want that more than another urban assault vehicle.

I don't mind this 1st iteration looking more like a tricked out sports car, but in all honesty I think I prefer the vehicle to look a little more 'tanky'.

Tumbler was too close to being a tank, the Snyder mobile was somewhat of a happy medium, it looked tanky but still looked like a car.

Sure, I don’t like what I’m seeing so far. Im bored by a more realistic Batman. We just got that with our last trilogy. That’s clearly what we’re getting, so I’m adjusting my enthusiasm for these reveals. I was hoping for something a bit more fresh. Also, I was clearly talking about the design/aesthetics. I’m not talking about the entire movie. Maybe you need to heed your own advice, and not be so reactionary in defense of the movie? :hehe:

i was referring to the design and aesthetics too. a shot of the chest and cowl and you're expecting the worst now bc its not what you wanted. It's not in defense of the film. I just think it's wild to be that opposed based on this one thing. I didn't say anything about the movie as a whole just like you didn't. You can feel however you want about it.

And armor and leather doesn't really base everything in reality imo. The actual design of the pieces are pretty fresh too. Collar, symbol design, etc. I don't see Reeves just doing what Nolan did and it also doesn't mean it'll be hyper realistic because a man who fights every night wears armor. That's just pragmatic.

lol, again, it's silly the way you're going about it. Are you getting all uppity about people who like the design? No, you're not. Are you getting all pompous about people speculating on the movie based only on a "50sec clip" who like the design? No, you're not. In fact, you're doing that in other threads. And why is that? Because you're defensive about it, even though you're trying to deny it.

It's weird, I say I'm excited about the movie in other threads(and have been for years), yet, I'm lowering my expectation on the overall aesthetic, and you try to claim that's "expecting the worst", lol. But thanks for letting me "feel however I want about it". I'm glad I got your permission. :funny:

I get people are just using the reference points available, but I don't think the Batmobile should ever be 'x' amount sports car or 'x' amount tank - it should be a Batmobile, its own beast entirely. It defies the established classifications of other vehicles because, like Batman, it exists outside of them.

How many combined sport car/tanks are there out there?

The funniest **** ever would be Reeves dropping a batmobile pic and Batman’s sitting inside but his ears are blocked off.
He cuts all the trailers and promotional images so that the ears are never in view. The ears remain a complete mystery right up to opening night.

:funny:

Yeah, that would be good. Especially if the car has a low top. There will be debates far crazier than Blurple. :hehe:

I really hope if there's a big action set piece around the batmobile we get to see it as a pursuit as opposed to the car on the run from villains for the police. We get a bit of that in Dark Knight before the tumbler is destroyed. And BvS, but the scene isn't great.

I do love most of the tumbler stuff and the sequences with Burton's batmobile, for what they are.

TDK. That entire chase with armored car is one of the most intense, edge of my seat experiences I've ever witnessed in the theater. I don't see how their could be other choices haha.

TDK's is my favorite but also love B'89 - B&R's as they feel the most like something out of a comic or Batman thing. BB's is good though while I'm very mixed about BvS and JL's. SS's could have been good but it was too short

B&R in 4th and TDK'a being 2nd to last..Now that's a travesty!

I honestly have no idea why some of you are putting TDK so high? The Tumbler scene lasted about 60sec. Batman kills a garbage truck driver, turns around, and Joker blows up the Tumbler: the end. Not exactly a great chase. The Tumbler chase in TDK was spectacularly underwhelming. Sorry.
