One other thing worth mentioning, since everyone is anxiously awaiting the first big reveal of the new Batman and Wonder Woman costumes (don’t worry, you don’t have much longer to wait) — as I said earlier, yes the bat-suit will be black and gray. I’ve been told it’s a sort of fabric uniform — not cloth or spandex, mind you — similar to what Captain America wears in the Marvel movies, with some armoring mixed in. He’ll also have a second suit that’s entirely armored, something not unlike Iron Man armor but based off the designs from the comics The Dark Knight Returns and Kingdom Come. We’ll being see at least one of them soon, and when it’s revealed I’ll let you know.

With just days or weeks to go until production really gets fully underway, and with the first reveal of the new costumes coming soon, that means we should also be hearing some official casting announcements and other news soon, dear readers. For now, though, I think some of the evidence gives us strong hints of where things are headed, and as I find out more I’ll be sure to let you know.

Not sure what I think about that really - I'm worried a bit. I just hope it doesn't look too bulky and padded. The CA suit looks good for Cap, but Batman needs more definition. I was hoping it would lean more towards the MOS bodysuit look, but with the classic Batman flare of course.

Hey, I was just looking at some images of past Batman incarnations and I had a question. I know Joel Nipplemacher directed both BF and B&R, but I had forgotten that the Batnipples were present in both films. It seemed that I've only heard it associated with Clooney's Batman for some reason. Wasn't there an uproar about the nipples after BF? And if there was, I wonder why it was changed for B&R?

Also, if it was okay for both Batman and Robin to have the suit nipples, why didn't Batgirl's suit have them?! That's pretty sexist, Joel!!

Hey BattleAngel....have you tried/thought of making the cape the same/seamless material with the cowl, instead of two pieces?

I'm pretty sure it is supposed to be one piece. The cape has just been flipped back over the shoulders and we're seeing the underside of it.

I think a lot of that has to do with B&R being terrible. People went out of their way to pick on it (rightfully so) and nipples became an easy target.

I've never minded the nipples. It's reminiscent of Roman breast plates and no one really teases those guys.

Maybe those rumors about the suit looking a bit like the Batman: Noel costume weren't too far off.

I'm not a huge fan of that costume so I hope in terms of design it looks more traditional with that material I suppose.

I was worried about this.

At least having to live with the Noel rumors for so long has gotten me used to that suit. At first, I thought it was absolutely pukeworthy. Now I think it's a lot better than some of the other designs that have been floated, and certainly better than TDK(R). I like the utility belt a lot.

Here's a quick Fleck-job on the Noel suit I just pulled out of my buns...

Not my best work by a long shot. And ironically, the Noel cowl is one of the only Batman cowls that doesn't fit Ben's face at all.

Anyway, that suit would be a lot better than the Robo-Suit. I've still got my fingers crossed that it might look closer to the manips I posted last night though (and thanks, guys, for your kind words about those!).

Not a big fan of the Noel costume either. Hope it's a bit more simplistic in terms of design. I do like that they'll be using that type of fabric Captain America had for his costume in the Avengers. Many people suggested that early on so that's a good route to take.

The less busy the design is the better.

Agreed that busy = bad.

If they mean the fabric from Avengers, that's great news for Bats. However, I have a feeling that they are talking more about his look from "The First Avenger" - and while that's a great look for Cap, I don't want to see it for Batman. I'll take it over a rubber suit for sure, but that's a LOT of padding for a guy I've always seen as more lithe.

Even if it's the Noel suit with Miller's ears and chest symbol, and no white eyes, I'll still take it over TDK(r), but they'll be missing an opportunity to make *the* kick-ass suit imho.

Just found this pretty cool picture. I don't think it's been posted here before...

On this thing, the jigsaw craziness of the Dark Knight (Rises) suit looks kind of cool. If we do get a Bat-Robot at the end of this, I wish it would look something like this. There's something really creepy and demonic about it, despite it's Mechishness.

^^ If Kevin Smith (a Bats pure fan) was shocked by the design I think the suit will be great. I don't know if believe those words. We'll see.
