Will his neck be able to turn ??
Good question. It doesn't seem like it, does it?

Yup. Wilkinson confirmed it.

Its a very important thing to Zack that the Batsuit would be comfortable and very flexible, but then would be able to perform in a very natural and forceful way. So a lot of incredible engineering went into the development of the new black cowl.

It does look that way. I'm wondering if that's the lighting though. Either way Wilkinson said he can turn, so I'll trust in that. You can kind of tell I think that the cowl and the neck are separated.

If the cowl displayed at SDCC is accurate, the neck and cowl are not separate (at least on the surface). If the cowl/suit are in fact as flexible as Wilkinson's comments seem to imply, well... I don't know what else one could ask for. Finally, we're getting the batsuit we deserve. I mean, just look at the presence it has in the teaser. The empty suit has more gravitas than any Batman on film yet! Needless to say, I'm elated. The hype is taking over!

The sculpt looks like they simply created thin areas in the neck anatomy to allow twisting like a natural neck.
not sure about the separation. the comicom images don't show any.
And some of you guys must have supervision because I cant tell any difference in the new image from the B&W for color of the suit vs symbol.
SUIT vs SYMBOL - 2016 !
I think the "damaged" look is the material the suit is made from, a kevlar, carbon, grapheen composite weave ?

just my modest opine.
Nolan wanted to hammer into his series that his batman wanted to appear "scary" to criminals. Its all about fear. Thinking back on that and comparing nolans suit to this one, it would seem Nolan didn't come CLOSE to that idea. Nolans looks more like tactile armor. THIS is scary. I mean could you imagine seeing this perched on top of a building at night. Absolutely terrifying! I do however like to perpetrate the idea that Nolans bat series is an "else worlds" tale of what would happen if a real batman existed in something closer to our world, and I still love his series.
The neck definitely looks bigger on the official image compared to the CC photo, although it may just be the angle.

Yeah, I think it might just be the angle/lighting, but it definitely appears to be more imposing in the film (as expected).
Anyone who thinks he will be able to properly turn his neck are fooling themselves. "A lot of incredible engineering" doesn't mean it won't look wonky as hell when he does turn it. There's no possible way THAT cowl there will look natural when bent at the neck. Think about it lol.
They are gonna stick with the full body motion ala Batman Begins. If he does turn his neck, it will be edited or even touched up with CGI.
There will be some major movie magic going on. Especially if the cowl is removable.
