They could be bronze in that shot and it'd be impossible to tell.Nothing in this trailer rules out the claims of bronze fins, toes or knuckles.

I'm certainly not saying they are bronze, I'm just saying there's nothing to rule it out. They could theoretically be any dark colour and we wouldn't be able to tell.

If it is bronze it's safe to say it's more this type of bronze:

If I had a time traveling machine to use only once, it wouldn't be to kill Hitler. It would be to go back to 2005 and show all the naysayers what a real batsuit looks like. :o

 :funny:

It's hard to tell because the only lighting in this shot is from fire, but the belt to me looks like a really subdued bronze.

I think you're right- it certainly looks metallic, and I can't believe it would be silver, so some interpretation of the classic tan/yellow seems likely.

This suit is definitely on my top 5 list of best superhero costumes on film.

In terms of costumes faithful to the comics, I can't think of one I prefer. I have a huge soft spot for Catwoman's costume in BR, though.

Still too bulky for my tastes, but hard to argue with all the same. It's so satisfying to see Batman look like Batman for once, especially after having people on this board tell me for years it could never happen.

To everyone who said it could never be grey, I laugh in your face.

This is our hour, brother. And where are those people now?

At home, washing their tights!

I just can't see why the designers would mar a perfect suit with such an ugly and superficial detail.

Batman looks like a walking tank. And that's in his regular suit

I have a hard time imagining Snyder looking at this suit thinking, "Yeah, it's great and all, pretty much the comics brought to life, but what it really needs are bronze knuckles. And bronze scallops. And go ahead and make the boot tips bronze too."

From an aesthetic perspective alone, it's a profoundly pointless change. And from a self-aware comic book geek? Anything is possible, but it's a hard pill to swallow.

I want to see Affleck in the suit during fight scenes already damn it!

The suit in motion looks beastly. Never cared for the armored variant tbh but both are great when you actually see them in glorious HD.

His neck seems to be moving right? Probably some sort of elastic material... I still don't know how it would look, or work, if it's connected with the rest of the suit.

I am curious to see what kind of fighting style Batfleck will have. He looks like a walking tank, so it's hard to imagine him doing all kinds of acrobatics... which will make it all the more awesome if he does said acrobatics.

The bulkier frame didn't stop the DK Returns Batman from leaping around.

True, but that's a comic book. It'll be interesting to see how they pull it off in live action. Sometimes the CGIed fight scenes can look too much like a video game, and with Batman (especially this Batman), they need to pull off the stark brutality of it all. I'm hoping they've got some wire-work and practical effects set up to maintain that level of realness (word?), while still letting Batman do everything we know he can.

Are we talking about Miller's graphic novel or animated movies? Cause that's not reality. You need to figure things out differently on set.

That being said I tend to forget just how tall Affleck is!

It doesn't look like that in the pics but he will look amazing on the big screen.

The seams on the cape are curious. The cape panels are definitely not even pieces. Reminds me somewhat of the pattern used for BB/TDK(R) but it's still very different. I'm really hoping to see it worn cloaked, not just off the shoulders. It looks like when it's off the shoulders that it's rolled back, similar to how Keaton's cape could roll back off the shoulders.

And how will it work when he flies? Glider choice from TDK Trilogy was just brilliant.

This has been my assumption since I first heard it. Literally so dark that it would look black in Snyder's lighting anyway.

But again, I'm not saying I think the bronze thing is true, I think it's unlikely, I'm just saying that the trailer doesn't disprove it. The way Snyder lights things, possibly nothing short of well-lit studio pics would show one way or another.

I can't get over how freaking massive he is. Just look at him! What the hell does he eat for breakfast? Ostrich eggs and a Rhino?

He actually looks like a rhino with that bodysuit, come to think of it.

I've been waiting forever to see the real Batsuit on screen. 26 frickin years of rubber suits, 'armour' & every other excuse by directors too caught up in their own vision to respect the source material. Thank you, Zach Snyner, for not 'grounding it in reality'. This is the goddamn Batsuit.

Right there with you man. No more all black suits.

Even though I'd be disappointed, this suit would still be freaking amazing in all black.

That sounds like we've had 26 years of Clooney's suit but it's all part of the history, personal history more importantly.

I'm sure you guys have your own Batman stories to tell, and I wouldn't be so quick on bashing Keaton's legendary suit (especially the one from Returns), Kilmer looked dashing, if somewhat flashy 90s and then you have Bale's Begins iteration plus, of course TDK/R ones. It's constantly evolving, just like in the comic books.
