I always thought the Adam West eyebrows on the cowl looked a bit jarring, especially in shots of the empty suit, but it all knits together nicely with Ben actually inside it

Clearly they wanted to avoid the pencil neck/bobble head look of the TDK(R) suit. I think the stocky neck was a deliberate choice to emphasize Batman's square, imposing silhouette, but a method has been found to make it flexible.

Magic.

My thoughts on the batman portion of this cover:

The colors and texture of the suit look perfect. I'm glad this isn't one of those batsuits that only looks good in darkness (even if dear batsy only comes out in the daylight to pose for covers).

Affleck looks good behind the cowl. He looks appropriately intense, although it's hard not to with the black cowl and eye make-up.

I agree with ArmsHeldOut about the pose. The semi-side angle and dipped chin don't work well with the cowl. It think it contributes to that overly bulky look. He'd look a lot less stout if he posed like Cavill. I doubt it will be an issue in the film because he won't be standing around posing like that the whole time.

Overall, still very pleased with his look and think it will look ever better in motion.

Posted this in the Affleck thread, but I'll repost here since it's relevant:
RE: Batman's pose on the EW cover, it reminded me a lot of a scene from the teaser.

Maybe they were going for that look?

^ They may have intended that, but it wasn't the best idea. While it looks fine in motion, posing that way makes his neck look scrunched.

Hoping for a textless version, but I won't hold my breath.

I'm surprised it hasn't been released yet. I thought Snyder would've tweeted it out by now.

I'm glad people agree that it's just a poorly chosen picture of Batfleck. Surely, they could've used a better pose but he just looks "sloppy". It's about as unflattering as that one pic of Cap from the first Avengers movie.

With that said, I'm sure it'll never look anything less than awesome in the movie-verse.

I'm fine with the pose,Could have been better but it's not all that bad to me

I wish the photographers involved w/ the production would avoid having Affleck continuously lower his head when taking promo shots. Due to the texture and especially the dark color of the fabric, the cowl sort of integrates with the neck in an unflattering way.

The 1500×500 version of the cover photo looks a little better specifically because the outline of his jaw is more discernible.

Got a link to that version?

It's the EW twitter banner.

Yeah, I saw it, for some reason I saw "1500" and was expective something much more high res. I guess we'll have to wait for a better look.

Costumes look great anyway. I'd prefer a slimmer batman but he still looks great. And WW looks great too. It's all great!

I prefer a slimmer Batman myself and he looks a little TOO bulky in this particular shot.

They just should of had them standing in profile or head on behind WW.

The more I see the EW picture, the more I like Batman's pose, and the less I like Cavill's pose. Batman's pose is a bit too bodybuilder-esque, and his build a bit too TDKR-ish, but it aptly shows off his physique and suit texture. Cavill's pose doesn't, and he's the one who ends up looking kinda awkward. What Batman should've done is kept his head up and pulled his cape (if possible) over his right arm. That would've looked better. But overall, the way Batman is, the lighting on his suit included, just looks better, imo, than Cavill or Wonder Woman.

I find myself in a bit of a weird love hate position with the current Batsuit. In the trailer it looks pretty good, in most pictures, it doesn't look very good, this one taking the cake.

Agreed. Though I wouldn't exactly call them "Adam West", it reminds me more of Arkham City ones, which always looked ridiculous to me, like Batman is constantly surprised, and I was kind of worried it would be the case with batfleck, but for some reason it looks quite good here. Better than most of the live-action cowls in that department actually, as it also doesn't look like Batman is angry all the time, even when he is not supposed to be frowning that much (Bale's cowl was particularly "guilty" of this), it is more of a stern expression. It helps that the lines are softer, hence more natural-looking on this cowl, as well.

It is definitely my favorite of all movie cowls.

I feel like the stunt guy wears the cowl better...

Affleck in the cover photos looks very upside down triangle. His eyes seem to far apart or his forehead it too wide looking, hmm.

While the trailer and the SS set photos look awesome.

I have one little fear and it doesn't really have to do with the batsuit itself, but rather the way they portrait it in the movie and future promotional material. I hope they add more atmosphere, because yeah, I LOVE the suit (and Ben in it) and it's cool that they've been allowing us to see the details in it, but I'm ready to see some gargoyle shots, or more Batman like poses. What about some shots with the cape draped over? I know it's early, and there's still plenty of time, but I guess the scary thought of not getting more of that has made it's way into my head.

Which would be ironic, given that cowl is sculpted for Affleck's face and not stuntman's.

I don't see what you're referring to, though.

Hear this man!

It'd be helpful if they gave us more dynamic shots of Batfleck. Everything we've seen has him hunched over with his neck cocked and his arms hanging at his side.

Which is probably why my favorite shots of the batsuit so far are from the Suicide Squad shoot.

Indeed. The stuntman looked really good on top of The Joker's car.

Well, to be honest, none of the trinity had very dynamic shots in official posters so far. I am sure there will be those, if not with future posters, than in the film itself. It is Snyder we're talking about after all. Man's got the eye for much smaller details, he won't forget to include these characters iconic poses and shots.

The cover looks like it says Bats vs. Supes....only Wonder Woman can stop this chaos!

Yeah, I also think they're holding back a lot of the goodies in terms of photos, which is absolutely the right thing to do.

Beyond the teaser footage, every still that has been released is what I'd consider to be "teaser photos". Costume shots, promo images of the heroes standing upright, images from the film of the heroes standing upright in various places, staring each other down, etc. Thus far, we haven't seen what can be described as "action shots" or the heroes in intense situations/fights and taking on different poses.

Since the marketing swing for this movie hasn't even truly begun and they've been able to hold so much back (even in the initial teaser trailer), it means there will be a LOT of awesome footage and still photography to come in the coming months.
