If JL does deal with a Darkseid, I don't expect Batman to not wear armor when faced with thousands of aliens invading Earth, especially after BvS where he had to wear armor just to fight a single alien. Batman is supposed to be prepared and able to adapt.

Batman would be better "prepared" by not attempting to engage Darksied and his minions in a fist fight.

He's only using this armored suit in BvS because it's iconic

No amount of armor is protecting him from somebody that can throw Superman (a non weakened one) himself through multiple buildings anyway

Quite.

Exactly. If/when they introduce Darkseid, Batman's role should primarily be that of investigator and tactician, learning about the enemies origin, agendas and weaknesses.

And if he really must take on the forces of Apokoliips, isn't he better doing so by strafing them with heavy machine gun fire from the Batwing? I don't understand why anyone would imagine Batman the master tactician would try to judo chop or throw a boomerang at a New God.

Probably because they see Timm's Batman flipping Superman and Kalibak around like those two characters whose muscular strength can lift TONS and produce TONS of force are paper weights. Plus Batman attempting to choke hold Darkseid or as in TBATB punch Darseid through a Boomtube.

This as well. And I am wondering the same... I guess they want that to show how "badass" Batman is, even though this is not "badass", but plain stupid. I find that much better depiction of his usefulness to team of superstrong metas is not him punching Darkseid in a face like he's the Riddler or a common Gotham thug, but showing his resourcefulness, intellect and strategic prowess, something which neither of films so far didn't really manage to do well.

I don't want to see Batman punch Darkseid (or anyone of that power level) in the face, but I don't want to see him side-lined either. I'm sure they will find a way to keep him in the action.

...sometimes that punch in the face is just a distraction...

Batman unleashes a flurry of punches on Darkseid.
Darkseid is unfazed. Batman unleashes a flurry of kicks.
Darkseid: "Fool. You can't hurt me."
Batman:"No but I can distract you."
Superman flies in from orbit at super sonic speed.
*Punch*

Why wouldn't Darkseid simply vaporize Batman instead of patiently waiting while he is prodded?

Maybe he just wants to have a laugh at the puny human for a bit.

So Batman could ditch his ugly armour and do the Batusi instead.

On Apokalypse the Batusi is a mating ritual

I don't mind Batman having mission specific outfits. As long as it's not too over the top and JUST about merchandizing. It makes a certain amount of sense too especially if he's going on world adventures with the League.

I am happy for him to use scuba gear, Arctic wear etc, but I don't want a ****ing armoured suit coming in through the back door.

As long as we get Neon Talking Super Street Batluge,

I very strongly disagree, if you're talking about the TDK trilogy.

Maybe you need a little refresher...

...sorta like how Superman saved Hardy from Faora...

Could be in there...

I am talking about all Batman films. They never really depicted him as detective, like comics tend to do.

This was a great scene showing Batman's strategic prowess in battle (though it is a bit spoiled by the fact that in order to do so, Batman had to rely on a technology that is a bit too "out there" for this grounded universe), but one can count scenes like this in entire trilogy on the fingers of one hand.

And my "problem" with Batman in TDK trilogy is that he was either punching, threatening and asking questions (which is quite legitimate part of Batman's M.O.) or was relying too heavily on ridiculously advanced technology from Wayne Ent. (something which also irks me with "Arkham" games).

He never really sat down and tried to connect the dots. For example, in "Batman Begins" it was told to us that he wanted to understand criminals, so he even immersed himself in criminal life to learn how they think, but we never really got to see him do psychological profiling, trying to understand what motivates his opponents and trying to out-think them.

Granted, both sequels told stories that demanded this approach - Joker was supposed to be the character one cannot fully understand and to lesser extent him failing to understand his opponent was needed in "The Dark Knight Rises" as well. He was far from Batman in his prime, but what made him lose the first fight with Bane was him completely underestimating him - "Ra's al Ghul was the League of Shadows and I defeated him. Bane is just a mercenary."

Story called for him to do so, but dismissing and underestimating his opponents like this is not something an experienced Batman should do.

I'd like to see the version that is not simply tech-reliant, but actually carefully thinks about his real and potential enemies and comes up with elaborate plans to defeat them.

Rocksteady needs to make a skin of the mech suit Bat armor. Woooo!!

I would love to see the entire Justice League use all their power to restrain someone like Darkseid or Anti-Monitor so Batman can land a punch

There was this one scene from Superman/Batman: Apokolips where Batman threatens to destroy Darkseids home planet with everyone on it if hie doesn't release Kara and the rest, here's hoping Batfleck is gonna be that threatening to the likes of Darkseid,

Brains over brawns

I never liked that moment. Then again I am not a fan of Loeb's Supes/Bats stories.
