Yea I don't know that they'll do that either. In the Total Films article it seemed like Affleck was eluding to the fact that's he'll have to maintain the bulk. But funny enough, even he is not as big as the suit depicts. If they went by his actual physique, especially when he became somewhat leaner like so,

It would have been nice and he'd still be big as they wanted him to be depicted.

Yup, I don't think anyone should expect him to slim down:

“Rather than doing the shredded, ripped model version of a superhero, I just put on as much muscle as I can, to look like a UFC fighter or an American football player, or something like that,” says Affleck, who’s dreading doing it all over again for sequels.

This incarnation of Batman is definitely all about size and appearance of a huge beast. Or to put it simply - he's a big guy.

Indeed. Though he already got quite big for "The Town", five years ago, so this should have made it easier for him. Muscle memory is a great thing.

Anyway, it's true that if suit was more closer to Affleck's real physique he would still appear slimmer, but I kinda like the fact that Wayne looks noticeably bigger when in suit for two reasons - it goes in line with the fact that he wears some sort of armor under the suit and it further detaches the character of Bruce Wayne from the character of Batman visually.

Yea, all good points. Although it's odd how in most shots in the trailer, he doesn't appear as big as he's depicted on these magazine covers. Perhaps the mags have just been really awful with the editing.

Yeah, I'd go with this explanation, as it seems most likely.

What do you guys think of the Arkham Origins suit then? That was bulky, but had decent lengthed ears.

It's definitely not as terrible as "Arkham Knight" one. I actually liked the "Origins" cowl quite much. Ears are not as ridiculously long as in other "Arkham" games there.

For whatever reason, the costume looks quite a bit more streamlined in the photos off the set of Suicide Squad. If this is a fair approximation of what we'll ultimately get on film, consider me a very happy camper.

Just give us variants like Nite-Owl's snow suit in Watchmen.

Maybe, a yellow symbol in a flashback/future Bat film.
