they didn't have multi million dollar budgets.
even with the limitations of a fan film budget.
I'm so sick of these excuses. Cosplayers have shown this to mean nothing in terms of budget. It's a matter of the time, work and energy put into it. There's absolutely no reason for fan films, especially for a comic book/superhero based one, to half-ass the costume.

It's a fan film for Christ sakes not everyone has money to create expensive suits. It's nit as simple as cosplayers do it, it also has to be practical and work for stunts etc. There's also other elements of the film that will take up the budget. Of course some people think money grows on trees :whatever:

The Netflix Daredevil suit is terrible.

Daredevil should've just kept the black ninja get up.

The final costume is a little weird. Especially the cowl. Being blind and a vigilante who is really good at taking an ass whooping ... less superhero-ish I felt, thematically it presented more danger and drama for him to just wear basic all black clothing like that with the black bandana over his face. A poor man's, less talented, weaponized Batman on all levels.

I don't get why the character would brand himself with a logo, especially being blind and with horns if he's just a neighborhood vigilante. He doesn't feel like a symbol the way Batman is ...

Also just saw the BvS clip in HD on a really big screen TV during the game and the cowl, the mobility, the suit as a whole looks fantastic.

Sorry man, but I've yet to see a Cosplay that I would consider movie quality. It might look good in a photo, but in motion, in HD, in stunts...etc. I have never seen a Cosplay match a movie suit, because at some point it's not an excuse to say, "I can't spend 20 thousand on this suit," it's just reality. That's why cosplayers can't get material with the same kind of texture, weight, flexibility.

I wonder what kind of material the batsuit is made of. It looks like fabric but definitely not spandex(like cavil's) its clearly made of a thicker material, I just can't figure out what that material could be.

It's likely the same material but they played with the texture and thickness(just add more space in the mold). It's not Spandex. Cavil isn't wearing Spandex. They haven't used that stuff for like 20 years now. It's far closer to neoprene if not neoprene.

Cavil of course also wears a muscle suit underneath. But what's cool is that the top mesh is a mesh and it allows the silver muscle suit to play with the light.

Now I don't know about that 3D printed stuff, it would be much easier just to do it all in the mold.

I really can't get behind all this "costumes should be fabric". No because Daredevil showed us why that's stupid.

Also wondering how this turned into a Daredevil thread.

Remember we were all worried that Synder might make a Batman suit that looked like this?

What's wrong with Owlman? I thought he looked good.

Ha, yeah, messed that up. :hehe:

Wait, is there an Owlman?

I don't think anyone was really worried about the prospect of that happening. I do recall some of us saying that we might finally get a scene where Batman's cowl hangs from his neck in light of Nite Owl's mask being worn the same way, as seen below.

I love that suit. Though Rorschach's outfit remains my favorite.

Oh yeah. How could I forget about the Comedian?

I can't be sure, but I recall Snyder saying that the night owl suit was a satire on the batman rubber suits.... Either way, I thought it looked good and the way his cowl hung back over his head gave me hope that Snyder would do the same with batman.

I love just about every aspect of that film. I sometimes wonder if it would have been better received had the Watchmen characters been more of a known quantity.

Maybe he was talking about Ozymandias.
