Sure, we've seen plenty of BatFleck in the regular costume; Vision isn't suggesting otherwise. He's just saying the trailers, as opposed to the magazine covers, have yet to reveal any clear, full-body shots. The scene where Bats emerges from the rubble is shadowy/dimly lit, and only provides a look at his torso; the grapple gun shot is CGI; the stand-off scene in the Batmobile is quite distant and a bit hard to make out; and the SS footage is basically a rear-side shot.

Thus far, the only time we've seen the regular suit from top to bottom on film is in the closing shot from the latest trailer; and that's also slightly out of focus due to it being far away.

That said, I think they're just waiting until we're much closer to the film's release to give us the real money shots, which is understandable.

EXACTLY!! Spot on.

Now, I think a lot about the realism of comic book movies. This though, takes the cake on over analyzing and I love it.

Haha yes, same here! I can't believe I have never thought about this, but great point and observation!

^ Those pics of Bale as Batman sum up my problems with Ben as Batman, he looks like a dude dressed up in a Batman suit, whereas Bale looked Batman even in a mediocre Bat-suit, I suppose it's the eyes... Bale had the right attitude.

I think in BvS there may be more of a human vulnerability to Batman as a core plot element. He's not sure of his purpose anymore. Now that the world is dealing with extinction level threats and godlike alien beings. And he's worn out with all the corruption in government. My guess is that Snyder is directing Affleck to play a much more psychologically nuanced Batman (in terms of both weaknesses and strengths), who is some ways is breaking down a bit.

^ Yeah. I think Batman is out of his element. I think Affleck's acting when he looks up at the sky is excellent.

His Bruce sounds more weathered than Affleck himself sounds in a lot of interviews, as if Batman's been through everything..and his last mission is to die honorably stopping Superman.

That's my takeaway.

What legit full body shots have actually been released so far?

There's the Empire mag cover one and I guess the original teaser image but any else?

The rest have been more like profile shots from the chest up.

I want to see some shots like this:

Ahh, I remember posting here 10 years ago when Batman Begins was in production and all the crazy costume rumors about the suit. The "Teh Puffeh" thing. So glad that full body foam latex stuff is in the past. While I was a fan of the 2nd costume being more Cloth, I hated the dirt bike armor elements, and how thin Bale became.

Affleck IMO is wearing now what I've been waiting 30 years to see. Flexible, non restraining cloth costume with hidden armor. Batman is supposed to look Organic, not Origami.

Finally got Arkham Knight, and played the entire game with the BvS suit, it just looks amazing in the game. Not over-designed or under-designed just straight up perfection for me.

And the Keaton suit looks pretty fantastic as well

Completely disagree with the posters who say Affleck is not a convincing Batman.

batfleck-original.jpg

These 2 pics, along with the above armor shot have me seeing Batman not Affleck. As much as I love Bale's performance, on just a purely aesthetic level, Affleck has Bale beat. But hey, I'm one of those few who was always on board with Affleck as Batman

That second shot is Batman to me.

And then there's these shots:

I don't know how much more Batman we can get, here.

IDK about you guys....

But this looks like Batman too me. And he doesn't have to try.

The first one, definitely. The second one, however, along with the magazine shots and (I hate to say it) the trinity shot in the most recent trailer, tells me that this suit is designed for darker, shadowed lighting. I have to say that in promo shots especially, I don't like the suit. It looks best in darkened lighting and in action. Then it looks like perfection.

Val Kilmer is the one that's underrated as Bruce Wayne / Batman. I thought he was great in "Batman Forever".

So true. He would have been a hard Batman to beat with a different story and a different director.

Honestly, I prefer it that way, as I mentioned above. The suit looks best shadowed and in action. I'm not actually a fan of the shot you posted.

I need to get my hands on a console so I can play the Arkham games. They are amazing games (IMO).

The Batsuit is indeed excellent. Most comic accurate no doubt. But I've honestly liked every Batsuit we've seen on the big screen outside of a couple such as the Batman Forever Sonar suit and the Batman & Robin Ice suit at the end. Other than that I honestly haven't disliked any big screen Batsuit.

Even the West suit has a certain magic about it that never makes it seem cheap or dated to me.

Honestly, I actually don't mind the Sonar Suit...

Yeah I liked it better than the Panther suit despite some actually seeming to prefer it.

The Panther suit was pretty much just the Burton Batman 1 suit "Schumacher-fied" i.e nipples and more sculpted abs.

A lot of people don't mind it. I mean I don't hate it. But the Batman & Robin ice suit is unforgivable lol I don't see why anyone would like that one but I'm sure someone out there does.
Admittingly, I still have the 12" deluxe Val Kilmer Batman Sonar Suit statue on display in my hobby room. It was a gift from many years ago.

The cowl looks especially, deliciously black in the new TV spot. I approve.

The Sonar suit was nice change up from what we saw before. It seemed more engineering and appropriate for going into battle. It was like the original Iron Man getting a new suit. Going with the theme of the film, the bigger bat made even more of an impression.

The Ice suit though was pure lazy and just wasn't explained well.

I wish they'd do a figure of this. NOT a straight Keaton Batman, but specifically based on this version of it.

I would have preferred the Returns bat, but it will do. :)

So much style to that '89 version, especially the Batmobile. Love it.

The BvS suit is phenomenal as well. Both suits definitely look better on the Arkham model than on the actors, imho.

The Keaton suit does hold up pretty well actually

That's coming out fairly soon, I believe (or is it out already?). There are photos of it at conventions, along with BR Penguin and Catwoman etc.
