BvS The Batsuit Thread - Part 5

I found this pic on deviant art. The suit looks like it is made with some type of bullet proof material, with some light armor and my favorite the chin strap on the cowl, and white eyes. The suit looks sleek enough for him to move like batman but you can tell that it has a level protection to it.

Too rubbery. Plus the chin diamond makes me think of the Blue Bug of Justice. :)

Oh yeah you right. I just want suit that gives him mobility and protection. IMO the Nolan's batman couldn't fight but i could understand it since his suit was so armored up, it wouldn't look believable. I actually thought the cowl was what made bale's voice sound like that because it looked so tight.

But THIS kevlar T-SHIRT gives people protection ;)

Batman doesn't need to look like a human tire anymore :)

Apart from an ill-advised attempt to borrow some of the uglier aspects of the Arkham suit, the costume used in the porn flick was also reasonable.

That's from a porn movie? It looks pretty good. Love the long ears.

I also love the longer ears but with Ben already taller than Henry I doubt we'll get much longer ears than the Nolan suits.

Batman should be wrapped in bubble wrap

the costumes are very similar to the arkham asylum one...which is the way to go if fabric is intendet...

having him modify a kryptonian suit would make him supermans sidekick...which he is not.

Agreed Humanimal. I think we need to keep the Batsuit as far way from looking like Superman's costume as possible. It just wouldn't make sense for a Batman who's been around and had his costume done for a few years to all of a sudden adapt a Kryptonian suit to his need, it makes no sense, and having the two very different heroes dress more or less the same would look , well, odd.

That is correct.

It isn't quite perfect, as you realise when you watch the full sequence (the "fabric" is a little too stiff and a little too loose-fitting, which looks somewhat clumsy) but it is a good example of what can be achieved by working with fabrics rather than rubber, even for a modest budget.

I actually quite like that suit.

He wasn't suggesting that Batman should just wear a T shirt, he was pointing out that the costume could be composed of a material much lighter and more flexible than anything we have so far seen.

Now I want this, but for Batman. Bulletproof shirts and jeans.

Bulletproof clothing is good for Bruce Wayne when he's golfing but it's not meant to go through a superhero life. I think people are stretching when they mention that as a reason not to go armor. Looking for rationale in what Batman wears is ridiculous on both sides. No matter what it is all that matters is it look good.

But looks too flimsy. Sorry, my suspension of disbeliev doesn't take to that.

That's why I repeatedly say I want a visible sense of LAYERS in the fabric and PADDING in the chest area (and maybe portions of the shoulder).

It's not about what's real (there are bulletproof TUXEDO'S for crying out loud!). It's about what can be SOLD as realistic to the audience. But that doesn't mean Batman should have to lug 30+ pounds of material just to "look the part."

I say middle ground. We don't want thin-looking cloth, but we don't want Batman looking like a robot. Speed, I think, is more important then looking cool.

And personally (with the exception of the Burton and Begins suits, and some of that was more due to the lighting of Batman) I think most of the movie suits lack in both aspects.

They need to use the same breathable and thin material they used for the MOS and Amazing Spider-man films. They appear rather thick but aren't and they could use that material for the neck portion as well for full range of motion. Just don't add the same pattern and there you have it, a great material for a batman suit

Huh? They are "stretching" by pointing out the logical flaw in a counter argument?

What exactly is the reason to "go armour", then?

One reason to adapt a Kryptonian suit: perhaps it would offer protection from a Kryptonian's strength. I mean, if aliens landed on earth tomorrow and they brought fabric with them that was lightweight and could stop bullets, don't you think the military would try to reverse engineer it or use it directly? I mean, normal spandex won't be stopping bullets any time soon, but what if alien spandex could? Don't you think bad-ass dudes who need armor would totally be wearing spandex then? Not that I necessarily think Batman should be wearing "Kryptonian spandex" or anything, just that it could make some sense within the universe.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they have their Batman/Superman fistfight by having Batman modify one of the suits of armor that the Kryptonians were using against Supes before their Kryptonian powers kicked in. We've already seen that the armor let non-powered persons stand up to a fully powered Kryptonian, even if Superman did break through the armor in time. I don't want Superman and Batman to have a fistfight, but I can only imagine that they'll be shoehorning that in. And besides, it would awfully toyetic to have a normal Batman and a Kryptonian-armored-Batman appear in the movie...

That forms a neat narrative loop, but I don't like it, for the reason that it effectively makes Batman the Superhero With The Magic Suit.

I've always loved this suit. It's basically the New 52 suit, which is my favorite Batsuit and exactly what I'd love to see in real life. JUST MAKE THIZ REEL
