Haha sorry, I just laughed out loud when I read this. I thought belts were meant to hold things up, not the other way around??

Clothing belts, yes, not tool belts which is what Batman's is. Tool belts don't hold anything up, they just hold tools, and electricians and plumbers aren't regularly rappelling off buildings. Having a harness would distribute the weight if the grappling gun attaches to the belt, so he doesn't break his back, like the harness was supposed to do for the belt in Begins before Bruce decided to remove the apparatus for some reason. It would also have the added benefit of stopping the belt from sliding up his torso while supporting his weight, or hanging upside down, which is what Alex was getting at.

Ah I see. Thanks for putting me into place :) That makes sense.

I like that design. I wish the gloves were shorter and didn't extend to his elbows, and I would like them to have those serrated hooks (what is the word for those things?) that stick out from his forearms. But overall its a nice design.

I meant your manip Batfan

Thanks! Yeah, I thought about shortening the gauntlets a bit, but figured that extension would just add a little extra protection. Also, I was going to add in the fins, but with the angle he was holding his arms, I thought they'd be to the back of his forearms as we are looking at him.

Not a fan of the full lens approach, they result in spiderman like expression issues.
They don't need to look like Spider-man. Make them roughly the size of the actor's actual eyes, and lenses could totally work without looking like Spider-man. You'd lose the expressiveness and acting in the eyes, but if the eyes are completely whited out, you'd still lose that. A solid compromise would be to handle it like the Arkham games: the white lenses are his "Detective Mode" that gives him his HUD features, but they go away whenever drama is needed instead.

How awesome would it be to see bats have detective mode!?

No.
Contacts or whiting out over the actual pupil only results in partial loss of eye direction, you are still privy to the full range of eye shapes and the expressions resulting from such.

Things like daredevil which employ the lens approach relay heavily on the lowerface and context.

I should have said daredevil and not spiderman. It's workable but there is a reason they have avoided lenses to this very day and the 'whiting out' doesn't compromise that.

As for "detective mode", you don't need full lenses for that.

Was reading through Hush yesterday and one thing I now would love to see is an unshaven Batman. He should have a stubble. I think it looks great when Jim Lee draws it.

Might fit the worn out Batman idea they have too.

I don't remember Batman having stubble in Hush, but I agree, all the manips show Affleck looks great with the stubble.

Would it be too weird for a stubbly Batman and clean shaven Bruce?

I don't think we've ever seen a stubbled batman on film yet?

So the movie title would be "The Man of Steel vs. The Man of Tin"?

Na na na na na na na na...TINMAN!

Or
