BvS The Batsuit Thread - Part 8

It would tie in and follow through on the events of the first film. It'd identify Batman as an antagonist for Superman. It'd paint Batman as a man who does anything to get things done.

Yes, Batman is a detective and a ninja, but he's also crazy prepared. If there was suddenly a very lightweight alien material that was bulletproof, you better believe Batman would be all over that. Why wouldn't Batman improve his armor if he could? Lighter and more durable, essentially unbreakable? Why wouldn't Batman be excited to adapt that material into his batsuit? I don't NEED to see Batman wearing Kryptonian material, but I'd be really disappointed to not have him even RESPONDING to the new alien material.

And I only mentioned the idea of adding plate armor to it since I have a feeling that they're going to shoehorn a fistfight into the movie, and there's no way that Bats could survive a fistfight with Supes without external help. Even The Dark Knight Returns knew this. I don't think I've EVER heard anyone complain about armored Bats in that book's finale, but any time someone mentions heavy armor for Bats, some folks lose their minds...

And plate armor isn't going to make any difference whatsoever in a straight up fist fight with Superman. Having Batman wear plate armor in that situation would be entirely pointless, as it was in TDKR.

I hate the way the rubber pants contort and bend our of shape in the TDK TDKR suit.

Not a big fan of the "Bobble-Head" cowl, or the legs on the "TDK" suit...

There are ways visually that they could show Batman being able to contend with Supes, a little less Iron Man and a bit more grappling gun though haha. Not so keen on the rocket boots, but a suit that would enhance strength and agility would probably be Bruce's top priority after seeing ole Kal on the news, if he hasn't already done so.

Me and a mate were talking the other day about how an older more experienced Batman could have facial scars. Easy way to drop references and establish his own history. Have Bruce say one is from a skiing accident to someone, then have Alfred correct him on the sly "I actually remember that being from a one Waylon Jones, Sir."

Agreed, I always thought if they could do the legs similair to the Arkham Origins costume with just one or two big plates, it wouldn't look that bad.

the cowl is rumoured to look like Noel right? if they have that pronounced chest piece I think he'll definitely looking a bit more commanding that in TDK.

nope…Kevin Smith didn't say anything about Noel…he said it reminded him of Jim Lee.

Uuughh. I hate Lee's Batman. More bad news for me it seems. lol

I didn't know Kevin Smith had said anything about it, just remember reading a while back somewhere that it had a Lee Bermejo feel to it.

that was an unconfirmed rumor…Kevin Smith saw it a few months back and said: "I saw the costume, more than that, I saw him [Ben Affleck] in the costume. I don't want to give anything away, but I am going to say this... I instantly bear hugged [Snyder].

You have not seen this costume in film before. Because every other movie has done this Matrixy black armor thing. There wasn't a single nipple on this suit.

I think everyone is gonna be like 'Holy *****!' We haven't been down this path before. Even the hardest core '***** this movie' person will be like 'alright, I'm ready!'"

Haha, well if Kevin digs it I'm in.

I could get into something like this if it was bulked up a bit more, I just want to alllll the gadgets. I think it's time we go back to a slightly more sensationalised Bats after Bale.

What are peoples opinions on this?

Apart from the fact that I think it's been based on a Space Marine. The mask is terrifying haha

I think it's too much…i think we'll see a suit closer to this

he looks like RoboBat doesn't he? haha. If it is Jim Lee inspired, I'm looking forward to stubbier ears, Nolans always felt too long to me.

They did revamp the Earth series, and Earth2 Batman is still dead. He did briefly cameo in the Jae Lee illustrated New 52 Batman/Superman comics, though... where he looked like a champ ;)

That person was mistaken. Earth 2 Bats is Bruce Wayne, with a slightly different path to becoming Batman, and he wields a stupid ass club. He's also married to Catwoman, according to the cameo in New 52 B/S.

my word! I don't know what that is but it does not sound good at all.

Looks like Arkham Origins' Deathstroke with a Batman mask.

Batman shouldn't generally wear a full face mask. Not unless he needs a gas mask or something like that.

By the same logic, plate armor shouldn't save Iron Man from most of the stuff her survives.

But it does. Because the movie says that it does.

We already saw heavy armor helping non-powered Kryptonians take hits from Superman. Thus, according to the logic of that world, armor CAN help a non-powered person survive a fist fight with Superman.

A live-action version of this and the Superman counterpart need to be official posters for BvS. But I don't have a lot of faith in the marketing department that gave us a blurry poster of Superman's cape, arm and back of his head flying into a lens flare.

Hiring Drew Struzan for the main poster for this would be incredible. Can you guys imagine that?

In creating Batfleck's outfit, I would go down the 'less is more' route.
