I'm famous? :highfive:

This is sweet. I love the idea of his mask being full faced, leaving it open makes little sense and this is way more frightening.

Well probably get a Jim lee variant tho, which is still good news IMO.

You guys act as if batman has never appeared with a full face mask before :oldrazz:

Damn that's freaking sick. I honestly wouldn't be surprised in the least if it looks along the lines of that.

Sweet job man.

I would be totally satisfied if we got something similar to either of Alex Spider's suit designs, I love them both.

Thank you guys. I appreciate a lot . I think I will give one last chance to seeing a faithful and simplistic bat costume in the big screen, otherwise I am losing any interest in future bat flicks. Seriously the horrible rubber costumes we had on screen all those years, they just take me away from the story and prevent me from fully appreciate the script and the action. I've had enough, just give to the fans the true detective we deserve, along with trunks, white lenses and grey fabric.

The trunks ain't happening. And I don't care about the white eyed thing that people are so obsessed with.

I agree, i just can't see it working in live action plus wtf would be the reasoning behind it . Batman shows his angst and emotion through his eyes and mouth. Thats why i find all this cover up his mouth and whiten his eyes talk abit  but whatever floats your boat i guess.

For some strange reason I think the new Batsuit is going to pull a TASM. It's going to be way out there and piss a lot of people off, yet some will love it. I just have a sick feeling lol...

With the exception of Adam West, EVERY cinematic Batsuit has been so much farther from its source than the Amazing Spider-Man suit was from its own that "pulling a TASM" would make it the most faithful batsuit of all time.

TASM should have put Spider-Nipples... Dammit Webb...

Intimidation?
Appearing to be more of a monster than a man?
Heat/night vision?

Doctor Manhattan had white eyes and he showed emotion just fine.

Showing emotion has more to do with the widening and narrowing of the eyelids more than it does pupil/iris placement.

A lot more goes into showing emotions with your eyes than the eye itself, the brow is a big part of that and it's tough to move your brow when it's encased in a hard rubber cowl.

It's the muscles of facial expression, not the eyes themselves, that convey emotions. Notice how all the Batman actors have their masks with openings that are bigger than their eyes. Thus, white eyes wouldn't be an issue of knowing how Batman is feeling at a given moment if they use CGI ala Doctor Manhattan.

How about they just let Affleck try to act under the mask like they let every other Batman actor? No CGI eyes or expressions. There is going to be plenty of CGI in the film we don't need it for Batman's eyes.

Co-signed.

Snyder is already a polarizing director whom people love to bash, if he used CGI for Batman's face the haters would have a freakin field day. They are already having a field day do they really need more ammo?

The white lenses thing is mostly a stylized comic/cartoon style thing. In many cases they are not even meant to be literal white lenses. And in many of the more photorealistic comic drawings (Bermejo, Ross etc.) the white eyes are not there.

It's like the way the characters in classic styled comics/cartoons with white eyes can make their mask follow with the expressions. This is hard to pull off in the same way in live action, so the white lenses thing would be way less effective/expressive.

You can direct light onto an actors eyes to illuminate them while the rest of the cowl is shrouded in darkness - see sin city. I would be interested in seeing what's variation of white contact lenses look like when they're designed to go with the suit, maybe a combination of that and a prosthetic based mask would be interesting to try.

It just depends on the artist. Some choose to just simply give white eyes to characters that wear masks. Some choose to show that they're actually lenses within the mask. And I guess some choose to have them be some set of hi-tech contacts.

I guess for me it's two fold - it enhances his vision ala detective vision and it's part of making himself more terrifying, more of a creature of the night.

That's why I think it should be switched on and off. The people who don't like it win because they don't have to look at it all the time, and the people who do get to see on film by a director who is probably more than familiar with the slits.
