Well, some people just don't get the character, like that critic. He doesn't need to sneak up, but he does to throw people off and scare them. He's not a cuddly crime-fighter. He is the night!

They could show his moves better so people know he's skilled.

This is true.

I'm no Nolan hater and I don't mean to come off as one. His bat trilogy are some of the few CBMs I like. I just don't find them flawless.

^ Relax, this is the Hype. We won't eat you alive for saying that the Nolan Batflicks aren't perfect. That's IMDB (and Youtube's) job.

the dark knight is the greatest movie of all time forever for life. it changed hollywood. why do you think everything is suddenly "dark and gritty"? case in point, smurfs 2.

in Nolan I trust. I believe in Chris Nolan. thanks Obama.

insane enough for ya?

That sounds like a thousand threads on IMDB :oldrazz:

Batman Begins.. was the best characterization of him of the Nolan trilogy. And a good chunk of that is Goyer.

That being said, I'd rather the animation writers tackle him.

Sorry... I simply disagree...
I see Goyer as the back story and villain connection.
Translated.. Hey Chris Nolan... Read Year one and Long Halloween ...

Thank you Mr. Goyer...
Watch Blade 3.. There's Goyer for ya.

I like Begins, but it's success is greatly due to the other films failures...
The scene at the docks in Begins I really liked.
Thank you Johnathon Nolan and Wally Phister...
Goyer? Nah... His 15 minutes are up.

No movie with that sub-CSI bullet/concrete/fingerprint thing that makes no sense whatsoever (like, NONE) could be perfect.

Ah, so that's still a thing, eh?

My own manip that's in my avatar isn't far off:

Of course it isn't full body.
Ah, lovely :)

Are you jerking off to the Nolan hate? I NEED to know. :wow:

Well, now there's reactionary hate at TDKR with angry people lashing out with rage, which I think is unfair.

I'll show a textbook Nolanite comment: "dude shut the hell up, Christopher Nolan gave us the greatest movie trilogy of our time, these were his movies and how he chose to portray his characters was up to him, it doesn\'t matter if they wernt on par with the comics, thats part of the idea behind film making, bringing something fresh and new to the table every now and then. apparently your to ******ed to understand what good film making is.."

I was going to write a diatribe on his underlying flaws as a writer/director, but I think it's best that I wait until Intersteller comes to screens and he as heralded as the best filmmaker alive. I don't want to rub salt into the critical wound. I'd rather be the lone voice of reason, than yet another person pointing out the missteps of TDKR.

But I won't go in Intersteller looking for flaws. I just won't ignore them if they crop up.

Every popular director has an annoying fanbase. :cwink: I do believe he made the best superhero trilogy... so far.

I think its kinda unfair to hate him for that...I'm not saying you are.

Every director/film have flaws. Nolan is not the exception.

Memento is still my favorite Nolan film.

And shiiiii! You know that one still doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm not a hater. He's only made good movies, and some great ones. I HATE seeing people throw him under the bus for TDKR. I thought it was a good movie.

I think he made the best origin (though I like Superman:TM more), and TDK is the best superhero movie I've seen. TDKR does a good job of sequeling BB, though I think it goes to far.

MOS probably wouldn't be made if not for Nolan, and his films are always interesting.

I just don't want to feel like a lesser being if I'm not fond of all his work.

I like how independent he is, not letting the studios stand in his way.

I want him to be GREAT (and in some ways he is). I want to cheer on the people who call him the best filmmaker of our generation.

And I think Intersteller will be among his best work, if not his best. I think he has a very methodical and scientific mind, and would like to see it put to its full use.

Inception was sci-fi lite. Nolan showing that he can create fantasy-based rules with its own internal logic.

Now that he can actually work with real scientific concepts, I feel like he will create something that engrosses and captivates on a truly deeper level.

And if the film is good enough, I'll cancel my multipage rant, and leave my criticisms at the door.

If Intersteller's a missed opportunity for character, then I'll call him out, but I'll try not to forget all he does right (and he does a lot of things right).

Aware yourself. I'm no Goyer apologist or fanboy, but what you said there is patently false and anyone who has been around here for more than 15 minutes knows that Goyer's draft of the screenplay for Begins is very similar to the final film. Much of that film was Goyer and his ideas. Does that make him a great screenwriter? No, but give the man credit when it is due.

Goyer Begins ending:

"I forgot to give the main screenwriter credit."
"And you'll never have to."-roll credits

:lmao:

But back to Batman, I wouldn't mind seeing a black and grey version of the suit above. Plated in some areas, leathery in others. It's a nice blend, IMHO.

I also like this one, it looks kind of like the CA costume. I'd want something little a more durable looking for a movie, though.

Someone was asking for this 'proof' earlier...

from the Federation of American Scientists: Urban Camouflage

The results of the baseline urban camouflage effectiveness study were as follows: the lighter colored patterned uniforms blended best across the stucco and cinder block buildings which comprised the three day sites. These were the two 2-color light grey and medium grey urban patterned uniforms, and the 3-color desert camouflage uniform. The darker uniforms - the black flight suit, the woodland camouflage uniform and the monotone grey urban camouflage uniform- blended the poorest across the three day sites. As would be expected, the darker uniforms, and the 3-color urban camouflage uniform blended the best when viewed by observers from outside looking inside at a test subject within a building. Camouflage effectiveness tests performed at night at one site where observers were looking through a third generation passive night vision device revealed that the black flight suit performed well because of its high reflectance in the NIR against a painted urban background. The two color medium grey urban camouflage uniform, and the monotone grey uniform also performed well in this setting. The woodland uniform and 3 color urban camouflage uniform did not perform well at the urban night site.

With regards to the batsuit, the point here is not to argue whether or not gray is better than black (or black better than gray for that matter – though in Nolan’s batverse, where Batman shows up in the daytime, science would suggest that gray is the better multi-functional option). The point is this: the FAS study is scientific refute of the idea that argues a film batsuit must be all black; an idea that is based solely on the presumption that an all black batsuit is the only “realistic” option. That presumption is false, as the study shows.

… ah, the memories :batty:

^ Well, Batman's in an urban setting.

Realistically, it should be blue (for blending in the night) and grey (for blending into buildings).

Though I like the look of black more. It's more shadowy looking :D

Batman also doesn't wear a "patterned" suit, so it's kind of a moot point. He's never worn anything really resembling "camoflague". Well, at least in the modern age, outside Kenner's action figure lines.
