Oh come on, Bathead, relax. I'm commenting on the manip, not making a stand on an ongoing debated issue. If you even care, I don't mind the trunks in the original manip really. Now if I had gone into a hateful diatribe about trunks and all that, then you and regwec could pull out the same old guns and start firing, with all due respect of course:woot:

Eh, I'm just goofing around anyway. No offense meant. It was as much comment on my obsession as anything else.

I don't know. I liked the suit in TDK/TDKR. Not because of practicality; I just thought it looked badass. I thought the BB suit was kind of cheap-looking though.

Still love all three movies.

I love the movies too. I just thought the batsuit started out looking ok (not great) and got progressively worse. It was just too...complicated looking.

I'm not sure what the problem with wrinkles are... Actual bats are wrinkly as hell ;) Also... haven't we all been saying we want a fairly realistic Batman? Stuff wrinkles. Old and grizzled, to me, says "lived in." I want to see a brutal, down and dirty Batman. If the suit is made out of MoS style material, I'm cool with it being perfectly unwrinkled of course, and it's not like I *want* wrinkles, but that seems like an absurdly OCD detail. I want him to look like a real brawler who doesn't care about flashing a few wrinkles while emerging from the darkness to issue an all-but-lethal beatdown.

Along those lines, I am really hoping for a realistic approach to the utility belt- I'm hoping it really looks like a tool kit and not like an OCD plastic sci-fi fantasy thing that could never actually store real gear.

Anyway, it looks like we'll find out sooner rather than later. There's an official comment from the costume designer that he's almost finished with the suits. WW will deviate from her comic appearance, Batman will not look like TDK, and Superman's suit is getting a tweak (crossing my fingers for the black/red shield and black gauntlets).

Btw, did any of you see Catching Fire? The suits in that are cloth suits to me that were realistic and didn't look like the rubber tech suits everyone is wearing in GI Joe, etc. There were some wrinkles. Big freaking deal. The suits helped sell the vulnerability of the combatants, and also helped sell their lethality as well.

I understand peoples complaints about the tdk suit but I love it personally. Its not objectively ugly in its proper context or in the film to me.

I don't mind this at all, other than a few minor things.

1. I agree with other about not liking the wrinkles/creases. The body suit part should be a little thicker (like Supes suit in MoS) so it gives the illusion of thinner fabric, but the ability for them to mold Batman's body a little.

2. I know you wanted the pants to be black, but I think the whole body suit should be grey. And, yes, I'm one of the ones that think there would be no need for trunks.

3. I'm not gonna complain about the cowl since I know the source material, but I've talked about what I'd like in a cowl in past posts.

I really like the white eyes (again, yes I'm one of THOSE guys) and the bat symbol. I'm really liking the black utility belt, but not completely sold on it yet.

Overall, very happy with it! I just think with Ben's body frame, he's really gonna make a great looking batman (tall and broad). "Yes Virginia, there is a Batfleck!"

Yeah, I want the eyes to be able to be switched on and off with ease. I really just want ONE scene of nothing but two TINY slits of white light. I also like the Batsymbol looking somewhat disheveled, like some type of horror logo.

I feel like the ASM logo is a good reference for the tone.

It's like the logo itself is a squished spider-dripping blood.

I want a logo that says "You're doomed" all over it :D

I agree. I really like that bat symbol, where is that from?

^ Fan made from Flickr. "New Bat Logo design for the Red Rain costume. Somewhere between the very old school and begins with more defined points."

I also like the Tony Daniel logo.

Basically, I like the more realistic Bat silhouette, but with the rounded edges and disturbingly pointed forarms.

Based off what the reports say the suit is inspired by, I'm sure what we're going to get will be more than likely the Batman Noel suit with some changes. Imagine this live action, much like the Night Owl suit from Watchmen. It works, and it works well.

So much surety from so many.

We are all clueless on what it actually will be, but doesn't mean we can't have our suspicions. Odds are someone will be right anyway.

I am with you all the way. Keep posting.

I love that suit design so much and would be ecstatic if they used it for the movie, but I don't think that's what we're going to get.
I'm sure Smith has read or at least knows about Noel(And the other books that it appears in),so I think that if it were obviously Lee Bermejo inspired he would have said so.

He apparently said that it was Jim Lee inspired.
Nothing about the Noel suit says Jim Lee.

Odds are, its gonna be a combo of the Noel/Lee Bermejo and Arkham Asylum suit, executed in the style of the Night Owl suit which, funnily enough, looks very similar to the Bermejo Batman suit..
