The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

I think it already happened - it was just an announcement that Japan is getting the movie on July 11th with the rest of the world instead of the usual delay.
So they write "tomorrow", like it's some big thing happening, just for it to be confirmation of a release date, when they just could have used that tweet to tell of the release date to begin with?. Okie dokie then. Well that was lame. Was hoping for another shot of supermans feet or another guy Gardner parting his hair with his finger clip or something. Way she blows
Well I think they also released the official Japanese poster (with said release date) and trailer, but they're the same as ours, so that's pretty much the gist, yeah. :funny: I think it was just marking the beginning of the film's promo in Japan.
They also launched the Japanese website and official merch. So it was a pretty big deal for Japan. And their website is pretty nice looking.

Me living in Japan, I'm glad to hear of the news. I did a superhero themed lesson for my students, and played the Superman trailer a few times in one of my classes.

I absolutely hate how many Hollywood movies get 2 or even 3 months delays, yet it's not every single time. Some movies will release the same date as it does in the US.

Spider-Man: No Way Home releasing 3 weeks later in Japan was the biggest kick in the gut any fan could ever receive. I accidentally spoiled myself scrolling down Youtube, I walked right into all the bootleg clip thumbnails of Spider-Man: No Way Home unintentionally, revealing every single effing spoiler imaginable-Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock appearing as Peter's lawyer...Aunt May's death, but worst of all, Garfield and MaGuire's appearances...***k. And they actually released The Matrix 4 on the same date as it released overseas. To think they picked The Matrix over Spider-Man? Screw The Matrix. This is Spider-Man. I had to wait 3 weeks, but unfortunately, I already knew about all the main spoilers.

But thankfully Superman isn't releasing late in Japan. It's the first movie, so I don't know if I'm that excited.

I'll get excited if I start seeing anything here in the UK. As it is, it's hard to find Superman related anything, even in collectibles/toy shops.

I expected this month to drag on, but it really hasn't been too bad at all. April is just around the corner. 🥂
Yeah honestly, I was dreading the inevitable drought between the teaser in December and the marketing kickoff in April, but it hasn’t actually been too bad at all for me. Kinda flew by. I guess it helps that I haven’t seen the teaser attached to too many movies this year so it still feels fairly fresh to me. Hard to believe it’s already about time for another one.

Barring the new Dan Slot ongoing series, it should be another great year for Supes fans. Been a long time coming.

Tbf... we're not there yet.

This last week might be excruciating 😅

The horrors of what Dan Slott did to Spider-Man reached even my ears and I haven’t followed Marvel Comics at all for the last decade. :funny:
Yeah, Slott has literally stripped certain characters of everything that defines them. And he's completely unreceptive to criticism. If you don't like Bendis, brace yourself. I've heard people say he's like Bendis on steroids!

Thankfully all the other Supes books can carry us for a while, so I don’t even have to pay him any mind.

No way lol. I agree with flick. Just in comparison to that 3 year wait between MoS and BvS, the wait time between Gunn's DCU announcement, principal photography, and now the wait in between the trailer and the official one before release in July is cupcake. Really did fly by. Maybe I'm just getting older in this thing we call life, lol. Looking forward to great things from the trailer

PSA, Walmart is now carrying the 2025 Superman logo shirt in stores at $8.98.

I picked up two of them today.

I got the long sleeve version tucked and ready to go. I think I have a hunch my wife just bought me the Wal Mart version because my little girl almost spilled the beans as a surprise .

I always wait to see if I love something first before committing to things. I have the Superman Solar suit from White Sheep Leather on standby for Causeplay with the Gunn suit that I will build for the kids/charity as a volunteer. Definitely anticipating the film.
