Well her name does go along with that other report of Nolan searching for unknown actresses. And I seriously haven't seen her in anything.

I checked out her Wikipedia page and she's known more for her modeling than acting.

I am from a planet where there is ALSO an actress named Natalie Portman. However, the one I'm thinking of is a one-note, over-exposed plain Jane who was INSTRUMENTAL in destroying a certain sci-fi film franchise that used to be inextricably bound to my childhood. Yeah, she was instrumental in destroying Star Wars. In three films where almost everyone else (also proven actors) also gave horrid performances. Nothing to do with Lucas's horrible writing and directing. Because Lucas has been so great since then, with Indiana Jones 4 and that wonderful Star Wars Clone Wars film. While she did horrid stuff like V for Vendetta, Closer, and Black Swan.

I don't remember reading that report. That would certainly deviate from Nolan's usual philosophy.

Do I want Portman to be in this movie? No. Is she a terrible actress? No. In fact she is very solid actress. Is she responsible for what happen to SW? No. Is George Lucas's ego responsible for what happen to SW? Yes.

And if it´s Lady Shiva and Talia,I´ll feel hugely happy because they are two characters that I always wanted to see in a Batman movie.

If Nolan really wanted to make me happy then cast Michelle Yeoh as Lady Shiva.
 
My issue with bringing Catwoman in now is that they won't do her character justice in one film. If they wanted to use her, she should have been parallelled to Batman in Batman Begins and had been a minor villain in The Dark Knight and then the love interest The Dark Knight Rises - we would've also gotten the whole mob tie in bringing it full circle.

Although I believe she can still be used to wonderful effect. Harvey Dent and The Joker were only in one film, and they were pretty well done.

I'd rather see Catwoman in one film than in no films in this trilogy. She belongs in early Batman lore.

There's a rumor out there that, if Catwoman is in the film, she won't be handled the way that most people are expecting in terms of her role in the film and in Nolan's overall mythos and story. I won't say anything more specific, but if the rumor's true, I'm going to be very interested to see people's reactions to it.

I am shocked and appalled.

Anyway, I wouldn't have a huge issue with her being portrayed as Gotham's replacement protector in Batman's absence. It fits with the whole "inspiration" of her own identity after he emerged. As long as she's some kind Robin Hood, and stealing at some point.

I don't really see why The Penguin not being that interesting as a mobster matters, everyone. None of the mobsters in these films have been terribly interesting.

Never understood their(Red Triangle Circus gang) inclusion...and you could easily forget that Commissioner Gordon was even in any of those movies. All he did was flip the switch.

Of the actresses mentioned by Deadline and Moviehole, my picks for Selena (if she's involved) would be Naomi Watts and Piper Perabo; for Bruce's love interest, my picks are Kiera Knightley (as Talia), Anne Hathaway, and Natalie Portman.
 
Its interesting this short list of women seems so un nolanish to me.

I wonder if its a rumor.

out of all of them I like hathaway and watts the best, but really don't care nolan will pick who is best.
 
It might be obvious to most, but was it ever mentioned that the love interest is Bruce Wayne's?

The love interest might be Gordon's. Sarah Essen was rumored to appear in the movie just a short while ago, after all. Not to mention that she was rumored to appear in TDK back in 2006, alongside Roman Sionis and The Penguin. It's possible that all three were written out of TDK, and are set to appear in TDKR.

Food for thought.

The Demon's Head, The Penguin won't EVER be appearing in one of Nolan's Batman movies (he's already said that he feels that portraying the character would be 'tricky'), and I don't really think Essen - given that she really doesn't have much, if any, connection to Bruce (who has been the central character in both of the last two films, something that's not likely to change in TDKR) - would be classifed as a 'female lead'; if she shows up in the film, she'd be a secondary character, despite the fairly recent rumors that she was one of the two characters for whom Nolan and Co. were casting.

How can you make a completely faithful version of characters that have been written and drawn by thousand different writers?

Yep.

I see the younger under 30 actreess' Knightley, Portman, Hathaway being considered for Talia or Julie Madison and the older over 30 actress' Cotillard, Weisz and Watts being looked at for Catwoman.

That's a bummer but at least some if it will be filmed with the camera like before.

If it has a problem recording sound, did they do all the sound affects and dialogue later on in the studio for TDK's Imax scenes?
