I don't see how Strange is any less cartoonish than "The Joker" and "The Scarecrow".

The Joker is a pop culture icon and people know what to expect from the character, Strange is not. As for The Scarecrow, there was nothing cartoonish about him in BB, only sinister and unsettling. Plus, Jonathon Crane is a perfectly normal name to be thrown around in a conversation.

I just think if Strange is used, we might be seeing an entirely different interpretation to what you've seen in the comics. The beard for instance, that's gotta go. The design of his glasses too.

Does Nolan wear a vest?

And, it's more up to if Wally's eye shoots sexy...

Judging by Pfister's early cinematography works listed on imdbPro, he can definitely shoot "sexy."

Based on what . I saw some dame good animated episodes with Strange . Strange works with the right material. and Im pretty sure Catwoman will be the marketable character now.

That comment was the only reason I brought up BTAS.

I have read comics with Hugo Strange in them.

It's not so outlandish to see a man with a beard and sunglasses now is it?

This in live action would look ridiculous to me:

Post the rumours, but make it absolutely obvious that that is what they are. Maybe include a "*" system for veracity, or give story x one pinch of salt, and story z three pinches of salt, etc.

The mastermind has spoken. I was thinking the same kind of thing, of course.

A bald guy in a suit with glasses? I always thought Strange would be a pretty dull pick. Obviously you are talking about the look on his face but that can be adjusted.

Really is that more outlandish than a man dressed as Scarecrow or for that matter a Bat.:whatever:

Well yeah, because beneath the mask lied a seemingly cold, but normal individual. Strange looks a bit too obviously nutty.

He won't be walking around with that broad smile on his face, though.

Yea was just going to say that. How is that anymore outlandish looking than a guy dressed as a scarecrow, a clown, or a guy with half his face burned off.

Not to mention our main character is a guy that flys around dressed as a human bat! lol

If Nolan can make Strange "sinister and unsettling", which I think he can, we'll have nothing to worry about in terms of his name sounding silly. It all depends on the interpretation. We needn't shy away from the source material, but embrace it, and every time we do, it usually works for the better.

Rachel Weiz has apperently exited a movie she would have been shooting around the same time TDKR would start shooting. Has she landed a part?

Wow, is this what our interpretation of Nolan's realism has come to? Where a bald man with glasses and a beard is too unrealistic? :oldrazz:

I have glasses, a shaved head and a goatee. :oldrazz: But my beard and glasses don't scream "weirdo" if you get me?

I get you, I suppose I'm just a bit concerned about how he'll possibly come across to the general audience. I've never had these doubts in regards to Nolan before (okay, that's a lie, I wasn't enthusiastic about Ra's and Scarecrow but it ended up working brilliantly). Would people be against the idea of Strange not being his actual surname, but rather a nickname? :oldrazz:

Not sure but that would be great news, She seems like the kind of talent Nolan would cast for a major role.

But Hardy won't be the same as the drawings. Just like Murphy wasn't just like Crane is in the comics.

I don't think people will mind. Like you said, it's a pet peeve of yours, imagine the GA who won't give a s**t about the name being a bit self-referential.

If he's a tacky TV psychologist like in the comics, perhaps the name "Hugo Strange" will suit his personality fine.

If Rachel Weisz is in this movie, then I will be in my Bat-bonk.

Hey, DaCarissa, I've been following Batman-News' rank on Alexa for a while and it has gone from a rank of about 1,000,000 to 559,869.

Look: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/http%3A%2F%2Fbatman-news.com#

Wow thats cool!

**************.com picked up my post about Hardy/Strange. Usually other bigger websites credit CBM, so hopefully they'll write about it too, and give me some credit as well. Again, it's just a RUMOR. I only posted it because it comes from someone who has been 2 for 2 so far.

Someone posted this over at BOF and now Batman-News.com links have been banned. Wahhwahhhh
