Actually would prefer it was more like "Miami Vice" was in the early days, but one thing is for sure - you don't want to be protected by Batman like Crockett and Tubbs protected their charges. Everyone who was ever associated with them (except for main characters) in any episode died before the episode ended. If they showed up at my house and said they were there to protect me I would run like hell.

Agreed! Miami was a character in the show, the way Gotham should in a Batman TV series. They'd need to find a real location, set up shop, and say "Okay, this is no longer Wherever City, its Gotham and let's treat it that way."

However I'm certain this TV rumor is a total fabrication. It came from **************.com, right? Isn't that where anyone can post anything they happen to make up and report it as news?

PS. I'm pretty sure Crockett and Tubbs managed to keep Lombard alive under their watch, at least until he testified. After that, though, yeah... (So he -did- die before the episode was over, but not under their protection, I think)

Edit- Just remembered it was later revealed that Lombard actually survived that! Oh man, I need to watch the series again!

I think a Gotham Central series would be the best way to go!

*drools* YESSSSSSS.

The GCPD crew are amazing and it has the right level of involvement with characters such as The Batman, Joker, Freeze, etc.

There's really no reason there couldn't be a show that is both a Batman and Gotham Central and Arkham show.

What do you guys want to see from Batman-News.com? I've tried to make it very reliable, posting news from what I feel are reliable websites/sources. A few weeks ago I posted the first news from one of my own sources. Do you guys want me to continue to post rumors I hear?

I've received news about Tom Hardy's role from another source. I'm not 100% confident like I was with my last source, however this person has been emailing me for quite some time now, and has nailed things in the past. For example, they said The Riddler wouldn't be in TDKR about 3 weeks before Nolan confirmed it, and also mentioned Weisz and Hathaway as possible female leads a full month before Deadline published their list.

Would posting a rumor that turns out to be false hurt Batman-News.com? Would it help it if it turns out to be true? The news is slow, and I love writing for the site. Just wanted to get your opinions before I decide if I'll publish this story later or not? Thanks!

I say post rumors as they come, and single out the ones you feel are legitimate. Anything that fosters more discussion is a good thing. If it's right, you'll be proven right. If it's wrong, you'll be proven wrong.

Rumors are news around these parts, as far as I'm concerned.

Besides, itt's not called Always-Accurate-Batman-News.

I'd recommend acknowledging that it's currently a rumor. I've never lost respect for a site that posted something that turned out to be a rumor as long as they acknowledged there's still a chance it may not be true.

no, just make sure you label it as a rumor in the headline. also, i can't read your site because the left most bit of text is always cut off.

I see no reason in not posting what you hear DaCrissaMan02, afterall you yourself clearly state they are 'rumours'. Some people will always overreact, but that's just part of the parcel.

Go for it!

Do you know your screen resolution? The website is optimized for people with a resolution of 1024x768 or higher. If you have a really old computer with a 800x600 display, you may run into some issues. If you can give me that info I'll try to trouble shoot it. Is anyone else having this problem?

And thanks everyone, I will label it as rumor in the headline as well as the post. I think that's a really good idea.

yeah, my monitor died so i'm using an old on at 800x600

Yeah that's the reason. I'm sorry that you're unable to see the left side of the site, but it's designed with 1024x768 as the minimum resolution. You can read the RSS feed until you get a new monitor: http://batman-news.com/feed/

Awesome. Any idea when we can expect to see it?
Hopefully tonight. I'm just waiting to hear back from this person one more time before I write an article about it.

As others have already said, just make sure to put it as a rumour but also make the headline a question rather than a statement of course.

I say go for it, just put "Rumor" in front of it on the headline.

Careful Crissa,

having been down the "this is a rumor" road, some people, and when I say "some" I mean a LOT, assume automatically that it's a FACT.

I say post rumors, but hold yourself back more often than not bro.

You should probably go ahead and post it, and just put emphasis on its an early rumor and you are trying to confirm with your sources. Then update it later, this way you are not scooped by another website.

Agreed, you're only reporting facts. Fact is, you have a tidbit of news from someone with a track record that should be taken with a grain of salt. Serve up the rumor with the salt, and if it doesn't pan out, all you've done is report what was true at the time.

DaCriss,
Post rumors, just indicate so.
I scour these boards endlessly looking for any crumb that sparks conversation, as most of us probably do. It's great to have a place that compiles it all. That would be a good strength for Batman-News.com

Obviously use your best judgment, but anything to keep the conversation going will be a reason for us to gather round Batman-News like a campfire.

I think the key will be your bedside manner in delivering news. Stay humble, friendly and impartial as you have been and you'll be great. You already ARE great, in fact.

Yeah, I'd say post it. If it turns out to not be true, whatever. Just make sure you preface it by THIS IS JUST A RUMOR AS OF NOW.

What's this rumour people are talking about?
