Mrs TellerReed: "Reed, come on. You'll never make your grades if you don't apply yourself. Quit this space project. You and Sue have the rest of your lives ahead of you."

TellerReed: "Mom, I don't want to wait for our lives to be over." :oldrazz:

They could use the song for the theme. Change the title to 'I just cannot wait for this film to be over' perhaps...

I'm humming this as I type btw...:cwink:

So we went along to opening night,
I think we must have gotten high
You know that if we are to stay awake
Then you must poke me in the eye...

doo doo doo doo do doo do
do do doo doo doo doo dooo doo ooh

Storm had two babies, one was white and one was black
we have no idea what for..
Every script rewrite, every tweet was sh#ite,
and we all thought that this was all so God awful
Oh, would this film be any good at all?

[CHORUS:]
I just cannot wait for this film to be over,
I want to know right now, will rights revert?
I just cannot wait for this film to be over,
Will it be crap or will it be...ok?

doo doo oooh doo ooh do do ooh...

Oh, you get the idea...:cwink:

I actually think Millar's comments were related to the Stentz/Miller script before that was scrapped and Jeremy Slater started on the cheaper clean-sheet version.

Stentz and Miller also said some good things and that was the high-water mark for the project.

I never thought I would long for the days when Mark Millar was more involved.

Agreed...I feel almost dirty...

I'm going to listen to the original song on YouTube now and read these lyrics.

Ok, here's my go of writing the 2nd verse and completing the song:

So we went along to opening night,
I think we have gotten high
You know that if we are to stay awake
Then you must poke me in the eye...

Verse 2:

Trank began to fret on the non-existent set
Wishing he had thicker skin
Cause the tweets Fox deletes live inside him still,
It's so hard to be eager, but he's warned:
If months pass by then this will go to Marvel

[CHORUS]

I just cannot wait for this film to be over,
I want to know right now, will rights revert?
I just cannot wait for this film to be over,
Will it be crap or will it be...ok?

[BRIDGE]:

We saw this film in the screening room
And were feeling our anguish again
Believe me you'll be reeling
But you'll be seeing this film anyway (oooooooh)
This is not the FF that we love
Yes you'll realise in a moment
This is not the comic that your father,
Or your father, or your father read,
We don't want to be here now

So we went along to opening night,
I think we have gotten high
You know that if we are to stay awake
Then you must poke me in the eye...

[CHORUS x2]

doo doo doo dooo oooh do dooo doo
doo doo doo dooo do doooo oooh

Guys, I haven't heard a thing from Millar since his last comments that he somewhat retracted to. Could anyone tell me what happened to Millar?

I think he was quietly replaced by Kinberg as the 'creative front-man'. If so we can only guess as to why. I would imagine his comments on the Storm castings (those castings had not been confirmed at the time) likely didn't help, and maybe his citing Lee & Kirby when it's apparent this aint gonna have much to do with their efforts as well, but I can't say for sure.

He does seem to have been ousted from the spotlight for Fox now, whatever the reason.

Pure speculation on my part, but could it be that Kinberg works better with Singer? It seemed like there was some friction between Singer and Millar, and Kinberg probably lets the prince have his way.

Kinberg seems like a yes man Brett Ratner style

There was definitiely some friction between them. But I can understand Singer. He was the guy behind the X Men movie success. He has worked alone on the franchise fo nearly 15 / 20 years, and then Millar came as a "supervisor" on all Marvel project.

In the end, it is all Fox fault. They hired a guy only to try to copy Marvel (not knowing that they can't work like Marvel because Fox isn't the same kind of studio and Fox can't crossover their franchise so a guy like Millar has basically no utility) It' a big, big fault.

It's fun to realise that Singer understand all of that better than the Fox executives.

And yes, Kinberg is totally a big talentless Yes man. In DOFP, Singer basically imposed him to write a script that was a big "f### you" to his "great X Men 3 script. Even in interview, Kinberg was all "Yes, X Men 3 wasn't very good". I'm pretty sure that Singer is the only one responsible for the DOFP success (outside the actors, of course). Kinberg has done everything to please him. Pretty sure he would have jumped by the window had Singer told him to do so. Kinberg was definitively Singer's b###h.

A guy like that preserved the "illusion" of a Fox Marvel universe without angering Singer (who always said that the X Men movies were on their own universe)

Millar was as useful to the "Fox cinematic universe" as the DC Entertainment division to the Chris Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah he's somewhat a non-factor now because they can't do cross-overs + with the current sitch with Marvel / Disney and FOX, the latter will have slim to none help from the former.

The house of mouse just brought down the hammer on Fox.

Now that it seems Marvel is determined to make things as difficult as they can for Fox I'm curious what other things are in the contract they can use. Does Fox need to get 'sign-offs' from Marvel at certain points? Some have suggested that there are 'quality clauses' to prevent another Roger Corman type effort. Any clauses like that would likely be open to some interpretation and/or give Marvel the ability to audit Fox (which, given the current situation, could get ugly).

Things have changed since the contracts were first signed and it would be interesting to know what things Marvel might be able to do now that the relationship seems to be turning toxic.

What? This current movie seems worse than the Roger Corman effort. At least in that film they were only mostly hampered by budget, but it was very recognisably FF, and probably more faithful in some ways than the other movies. Doom was certainly the closest he's been to the comics.

I think there's a lot going on behind the scenes that is making this movie move at a slow pace from being made. Fox was intent on getting this abomination out and building a universe but now it seems they are focused on the X-verse only. The rights have at max until August to go back and I'm only saying that because I'm counting it's entire theatrical run but nothing seems to be happening at all right now and with Disney stealing Trank from under Fox's nose, the main actors all being busy and none seem to be anywhere near the set, it just doesn't look good. I still believe that Fox wants Disney to buy these rights back and as long as the movie is in production, they can hold onto them. Only time will tell.

Isn't Halo a video game?

Yeah wrong thread those posts can be deleted & so can this one

Yeah, like how the actors don't seem to spend any actual time in Baton Rouge. Miles Teller is in Atlanta filming Divergent, and Kate Mara Tweeted this last night:

I've seen sitcoms with more effort applied to them. Yet here they are "half way" through filming this reboot with no evidence of it. Not saying there isn't it just seems very odd for a CBM.

Hopefully Disneys Lawyers are on the phone with fox every day finding out whats going on & giving fox a hard time
