I'm late, so forgive me for this post if need be as I'm halfway through season three. I just...ugh, what's with this love thing between Penguin and Riddler? It's so stupid.
It's giving them an excuse to go bananas.

Actually most of the show is giving the characters excuses to go bananas.

Still not as bad as the Jim and Lee aspect, as well as another ultimately pointless character you'll come across down the line.

I have no issue with them being together. I quite liked it, actually. May I ask what you take issue with?

@Kathemy...who, the writers or the characters? Because I'm not sure who's nuttier lol

:funny:
It really is.

It doesn't kill the show for me but come on.lol

Huh...

One of these things is not like the other.

And I don't mind the PenguinxRiddler ship, but the way it was handled and, ugh, "Isabella" was not really that good.

The Isabella storyline was the stuff of comedy when they brought her back.

Watching season 3 on Netflix at the minute and I liked the Penguin/Nygma relationship. Even if Penguin was the'' psycho gay guy lusting after the straight dude''.

It's amazing how much the show makes you like Penguin, in spite of all the horrible things he does.

Fox has done a good job at not revealing Butch reborn as Grundy yet.

What? I think Morena and Ben have good on-screen chemistry, is all.

One of these things is not like the other.

If you're implying my dislike of it is expressly because it's a homosexual relationship, you'd be wrong. It feels forced, like it came from nowhere.

Penguin's jealousy became tiresome very quickly. The whole romance bit between Penguin, Riddler, and Isabella feels corny and cliche.

Yeah, there was a bromance brewing between them, but an actual romance came off as "what a twist" *dun dun dun dun*

I figured Riddler would be the one to sabotage that relationship
Still I enjoyed it for how far they actually took it, since at the end of day Penguin is the clingy type & his arc is being his own villain

I am enjoying the back and forth between Bruce and Selina. It's a nice bit of levity in an otherwise dark show.

I thought they did a great job with The Scarecrow in Arkham with Gordon, one of my favourite episodes the show has done.

Wrapped season three this morning. Despite the silly romance stories, I liked it. Bullock provided some great comedic relief and the actors playing Jervis and Jerome stood out tremendously well.

That's the first time I've ever heard that phrase used to describe Gotham :hehe: unless it's followed by "...of ****ing up everything to do with Batman and his universe."

Yessss, moah amazing fan art.

Also hoping we actually get to see Ben McKenzie don the mustache before the show ends.

Y'know, had the show ended with season three, I would've been happy. I haven't seen season four yet, but S3 wrapped up nicely.

That was the original intention, I believe, in case hadn't gotten renewed.

I'm pretty happy we got S4! We get to see the story continued for a bit longer! Also excited to see more Ra's, and especially Grundy. They've done a great job of not revealing his look yet.

well it sounds like they are pulling a bit more from batman:Dark Victory than long halloween with sofia running underworld and cops being killed in mystery:cwink:

I wish they'd gone a little older for Scarecrow. His dad would've made a great Scarecrow

I wish not. I'm pretty goddamn happy they've chosen to go with the original actor and give Bruce another guy in his own age range to work with.

I'm actually really liking the show this season. I walked away from it a couple of seasons ago because I felt it was too all over the place and pretty poor at times. Things season seem more streamlined and focused.

While I was a bit weary of putting Bruce in costume so early, I actually think it helped focus the series, and if anything, and gave it something to move towards as opposed to the " throwing things at the wall to see what sticks", stuff they were doing before.
