I think a good way to show Thor's strength is to first show how strong Hulk is somehow and then show Thor going one on one with Hulk, the audience would understand Thor must be really strong to hold up against Hulk.

I'd like that as well.

Maybe have Thor trading blows with Hulk without Mjolnir.

I'd be down for that. Maybe have Mjolnir hanging from his wrist as they brawl. Thor could then swing it up into his hand at any time to slam it into the Hulk when he isn't using his fists.

I would love to see thor throw mjolnir at the hulk and the hulk grab it and throw it back hitting thor sending him flying

Hulk can't do that because Mjolnir has rules and a spell on it you know.

I think Cap was able to lift Mjolnir before.

I think Thor didn't have that many displays of super strength in his film because they needed to showcase his hammer, now that they've done that I'm pretty sure we'll get more feats from Thor.

There really wasn't a reason for Thor to throw a super punch in his film since it was an introductory film for Mjolnir as well as Thor himself.
the destroyer fight was a perfect opportunity for a rough and tumble ol fashioend throw down but it was boycotted

:o

don't tell me you weren't expecting some sort of throwdown and was happy with the way that confrnotation went down

As someone else had mentioned before, Thor's strength was well demonstrated in the film since despite all of the powers that Thor's hammer comes with, only a man with immense strength could hit as hard as Thor did or spin it around rapidly as he did in the Frost Giants Planet.
how so, thor and odin were the only two people who lifted it.

you can't judge a weapon wielder's physical prowess if they are the only ones who can handle such a weapon.

how do you know that someone wouldn't be able to throw it harder and faster???

you know, cinematically i think iron man in some sort of asgardian hulk busting armour would make a better cinematic fight than with thor in this movie.

i think a hulk/thor confrontation should be hinted but no full battle should happen until later down the line.

if they throw all their eggs into one basket with this avengers film, they are going to have nothing left for the sequels

Avengers have too many good stories. Lot of material for sequels.

I dont mind them fighting...as long as there is no definative winner lol

Although Hulk can't do that because of the enchantment I suppose he could deflect it back in Thor's direction.

Yup, Cap has lifted it in the books.

Would like to see that actually. The Hulk tries and fails, then Cap lifts it with ease. Would certainly put across to the audience that the spell Odin placed on the Hammer doesn't make it exclusive to Thor being worthy.

It would be fun to see Hulk try unsuccessfully to lift it.

I think that has happened in the comics: Hulk straining like hell to lift Mjolnir and getting angrier and angrier, to no avail. It definitely happened in the episode of EMH where Ultron seemingly disintegrated Thor.

It would be interesting to have Thor reiterate that only one who is worthy can lift Mjolnir, only to have Cap lift it with ease. Of course that would mean that Cap could wield the power of Thor, but there's no need to go that far. The shock and awe from Thor (and potentially Loki) would be terrific.

EDIT: I see wobbly got there first.

Branagh mentioned in the commentary that he was considering that. But at the end of the day, the first time that we see thor powered up again, it'd be a shame to see him have a hard time on his first fight. i guess it makes sense, also pacing issues since he still has to go to asgard and take care of loki.

I'm with you, a better fight would've been cool, but i suppose the director has his reasons for making the fight shorter.

Yeah, then have Cap be surprise himself, belch an expletive, and hastily try to put it back to everyone amazement[Thor, Loki, Hulk(after struggling with it)]... with Tony sarcastically walk through the mist of them, calling Cap, "ChoirBoy".

That would be :awesome:!

i just hope to not hear 'Hulk Smash" as that is more than corny smh. Also they need to change cgi companies as that last Hulk cg was horrible. Get ILM or the guys behind AVATAR pleeeeeeeeease

ILM is doing it. And not having Hulk say that at least once is like cap not having a shield.

The shield is at least practical. Hulk smash is corny. its for a ten year olds brain to say cool. Its why they dont have ant man or wasp in this rendition. they cant be remotely grounded in this alternate REALITY that movies must try and stick to or it insults our intelligence. We can take super powers as those can mystically or scientifically be explained....but why a green ogre would even use the term HULK baffles me that out of all the words he can say he decides "Hulk Smash" is what his brain can conjure. sorry but that silly.

Its a silly as when captain america knew how to fly planes and have perfect precision throwing the shield without ANY TRAINING lmao. Sorry but i just like my hero films being as practical as possible and at least try and make it believable and not for 12 year olds. This is what Nolan and Snyder got right with TDK and WM

So you want a comic book movie that ignores the comic book aspect of it. Sorry, I like the Batman movies, but to me those aren't "comic book" movies so much as drama with comic book elements in them.

How does Ant Man or Wasp insult peoples intelligence. Because they can shrink or grow? There is more to the characters than their powers.

When people judge characters based solely on their powers and whether they are cool or not, I call into question their maturity levels.
