The Official Lynn Collins/Silver Fox Discussion Thread

I'm gonna start watching her movies to see what she can bring to the table aside from a less Native look.

Here's her complete filmography for those of you that wanna rent her up:

-Never Get Outta The Boat (2002)
-Down with Love (2003)
-50 First Dates (2004)
-13 Going on 30 (2004)
-The Merchant of Venice (2004)
-Return to Rajapur (2006)
-Bug (2006)
-The Lake House (2006)
-The Dog Problem (2006)
-The Number 23 (2007)
-Numb (2007)
-Towelhead (2007)
-Eavesdrop (2008)
-Uncertainty (2008)
-Life in Flight (2008)

Newwaveboy87, I don't think its creepy for a 39 year old guy to hook up with a 27 year old woman. Most couples are usually uneven age-wise and the guy is usually the older one. What's really cool is that Lynn's boyfriend Steven Strait is 21.

the creepy factor sents in when you realize that Hugh does film his age, and she's not going too. she's going to look way younger than Hugh. which makes it slightly creepy.

and slightly unbelievable. :down

I won't saying anything at all about her until I see either:

A) A picture.
B) The film.
C) A clip.
D) Someone on set who has something to say about her.

Does anybody else think these two look creepy together? Because I sure don't.

take into consideration how they'll film! Jackman has always looked his age, if not slightly older. it works for him.

putting someone who's 27, but looks like she films 20 is going to look kinda strange if they kept the romance in the film. which they more than likely did.

it might just be a personal thing, but age gaps that big is just...weird.

plus, if she's supposed to be some tough fighter...they need to hire someone who's going to look older, tougher, and like she could kick ass.

this girl doesn't project any of those things for me.

Michelle is far from an it girl, she has only been in one blockbuster and that was 2 years ago, an it girl is a Megan Fox or Ellen Page.

Yeah, I guess you're right. "It girl" is the wrong choice of words. I don't know. Monaghan just didn't seem right to me. Both she and Collins seem a bit generic for someone like Silver Fox. I'll just have to wait and see how they approach the character.

Awe come on guy's give her a chance, she could pull it off. Maybe this will be her big break yah know? Some people just need one film to start off there big. Jackman was unknown till X-Men and now he's doing all kinds of things.

erm, thomas logan just posted 15 movies she's been in. methinks shes had quite a few chances at a big break. i don't think shes right for the role, i really don't like the fact that her native american character has been whitewashed, it goes against the comics, and its not as if there are many native american characters in the movies today, so turning this into another "white girl" role is kind of off-putting to say the least.

btw, rumor has it that she and steven strait are now married, i do like the fact that she is the one doing the robbing of the cradle, although i myself prefer mature men, its nice to see some people go against the grain.

WonderWitch, some young guys can be more mature than older guys.

Both my exes which I was with for 2-3 years had been dating guys older than them before me. I'm 23 and my last serious girlfriend was 42.

I think Strait's got real balls to get married at 21.

I wouldn't do it.

Lynn Collins would've made a perfect Heather Hudson (Vindicator), but as Kayla/Silverfox? I'm not liking the casting so much.

I've seen her in a couple of films though, and she can act.

i agree, im sure she'll do just fine .....but for the love of god isnt therea single native american actress in all the world that can well act. why do they have to hire (no offense, since im white), a white actress for a native american role??? makes no sense.

Silver Fox has black skin or what?

And apart from that, still no manip of her as the character?

Oh, ok, hehe.

I didn't know that.

Then the casting of this girl isn't as good... Sorry to her fans.

Here's a shot of Lynn (far right) with boyfriend Steven Strait (The Covenant), Hugh Jackman (about to come out there), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth) and his wife Naomi Watts. She's hanging with the Wolverine crew now...
Now the identity of the mystery guy is finally revealed.:woot: Don't know if anyone remembers but Steve Strait was in Sky High playing a guy who's a lot like Pyro. He's also been suggested as Gambit a few times too around here i think.
I've never seen her in anything before. Out of the rumoured actresses though, I would have preferred Michelle Monaghan.
Monaghan was offered the part first but i guess the filming scheduling of Eagle Eye conflicts with that of Wolverine.

I've seen a couple of the movies Collins has been in but can't say that i remember her.

Even though I respect Collins' acting ability tremendously (especially her Shakespeare prowess), but I find her completely wrong for this part.

I have to echo others' feelings on this and question this decision to not cast a Native American in the role.
X-Men is such a great universe of characters because of their diversity. It truly is a universe of characters that come from every part of the world. And I believe that is what makes the universe so appealing on a global level.

I remember reading an article a couple of years ago (I believe it was when the movie Smoke Signals was being released) explaining how hard it was for Native American actors to get roles in film. Especially without being totally stereotyped.
And here Fox is with a significant, powerful, and multi-faceted Native American character and they decide to not cast one of the many talented Native American actresses out there.
Its truly sad.

Thanks narrows. She looks great in these photos, and I'm actually really warming up to her casting as Kayla. Her facial structure/eyes kinda have a slight exotic feature to them.

That's exactly what I was thinking.
