The Official Lynn Collins/Silver Fox Discussion Thread

Sorta has the young Ellen Pompeo look... I can dig it...

A lot of people in this business can look hot though... but again she did beat out a pretty type cast actress (Maggie Q) so that has to count for something.

We don't know what the story was behind her casting - the rumored Maggie Q and Michelle Monaghan may have just not been available/didn't want to do it so I'm not sure "beat out" is the right phrase.

Rhona Mitra would have made a better Silver Fox:

True... but she gets mentioned for everything these days... Elecktra... now Silver Fox... she's the new Angelina Jolie it seems...

but no one can beat elisha cuthbert and edward norton.

I'm just saying, Mitra could pass for a Native American.....

not really.

which just screams Native American.

Not to be rude or anything but WHO CARES if she isn't Native American?! It is not going to be an 100 percent translation word for word from the comics. Fans had to deal with that in all the other X-Movies, especially with the Phoenix for me. When are people going to learn it's NEVER going to be word for word copys of our fave tales? Even if we do there will still be thoughs that say "that's corney!" or "Why couldn't the writers have been more inventive?" YOU CAN NEVER PLEASE EVERYONE.

So anyway, sorry for the rant just sick of hearing so much complaining about something no one can change. But Lynn being cast, it is just so premature to judge at this point. Who knows they may even work it into the script that she is only half Native American or just comes from their descendance?

i dunno, i think shes purdy :applaud :yay:

i think she'll do fine in the role

What are you guys complaining about? Don't you know how many movies have had non-White actors made up to look Native American? There's nothing to be worried about...that is, only unless they're not going to portray her that way.

because making Silverfox white is like making Forge white, or Moonstar, or Warpath, or Thunderbird. it's like casting someone who isn't black for Storm, Bishop, or Shard. or a non-asian for Psylocke (if they went with that version of her, that is).

i know there's going to be changes, and that you can never please anyone, but there's already a lack of Native American representation in the wider culture and here was an opportunity to present a complicated female character in a HUGE franchise...and they failed.

it's bad enough will.i.am got cast in this thing, that Gambit has been added in for no real reason seemingly, and that Blob has been randomly added. this just helped kill any expectations i had for the movie.

We'll i heard that this movie is gonna be pushing the PG-13 limit with gritty-ness.........

they should just aim for R. it didn't hurt 300, Blade, Sin City, or The Matrix.

Thanks narrows. She looks great in these photos, and I'm actually really warming up to her casting as Kayla. Her facial structure/eyes kinda have a slight exotic feature to them.

I definitely agree with you Ant. I'm not understanding why many don't like her, she seems to fit the role better than Monaghan would have. I like this casting.

I 'think' she plays a teacher in this film, and she has that look to her as well. While it is annoying that they could not (or didn't try to) find a Native American actress for the role, I think Collins will do good with what she's given. And hey - maybe they'll hint at her background in the film *here's hoping*.

I wonder if we'll see Liev/Sabertooth rape her on screen...?:wow:

Please no  We don't need to see that at all. Even if the film were R. I can't stand watching those types of scenes in films, let alone a Marvel film.

Just an FYI - according to a Steven Strait website, Steven and Lynn got married around Valentine's Day. She was with him in LA for the premiere of 10,000 B.C.

• According to the March issue of GQ, Steven and long-time girlfriend, Lynn Collins, are indeed married, having tied the knot shortly after Valentine's Day 2008! Congratulations to them both! [ CONFIRMED! - Thanks, Ondra!]

I've always wondered how spouses or significant others in the movie business handle the premiere of really crappy movies.

If 10,000 B.C. is as horrible as the word-of-mouth has been, how does Lynn Collins (a theatre-bred actress) actually sit thru something like that and say "Well done!" to her hubby afterwards?

Ah, love.........:woot:
