Minor coindence to point out but both the Ant-Man director and the Mr. Fantastic both have Reed as either their first or last names.

Del Toro is still my dream FF director but that will never happen at this point.

Dont think Del Toro would ever work well with the structure of Marvel Studios. I think him working for Marvel Studios could end up similar to how things ultimately went with Edgar Wright. Why wouldn't it?

He could good for that too, but one source of appeal for Fantastic Four for me was always the monsters/alien designs which always unique & super-creative so when I look at Del Toros work on the Hellboy/Blade 2 I think he could really nail that aspect of FF easily.Del Toro would be my dream guy for like Dr. Strange. I always pictured someone like a Steven Spielberg type model you need for an FF director. I know he would never make one, but someone in that mold would be my target.

Just think of how crazy a Gullermo Del Toro-directed Fantastic Four film with the Moleman would be! The monster designs would be awesome!
My general feeling is: If audiences believe people can shrink to the size of an ant or turn green and incredibly strong, or burst into flames etc. is it really too much of a stretch to believe some superheroes existed before and nobody bothered mentioning them?
I can see trying to keep things relatively neat, but when it comes to telling a story the way they want to tell it, I'm going to let them do it and not get hung up if I have to suspend disbelief on some of the timelines.
It will be interesting to see what they do with Captain Marvel. Will she be much more secretive and the Skrulls never be known by the general public? If so, okay, they're keeping with the idea that superheroes and aliens weren't well-known prior to Iron-Man.
But if she's out and proud, that pretty much smashes any barriers to the FF. In fact, they will probably have time to throw some mentions of FF into the final cut of Captain Marvel if they want to go the retro route.
If the Marvel FF movie is set in the 60's I will keep an open mind. Feige has earned the benefit of the doubt from me and then some. I just hope if they go that route, they have a VERY good explanation as to why the whole world acted like The Avengers were the first superhero team ever in history.
But that team are nowhere near as popular or famous in the MCU as the Fantastic Four normally are in the comics(the FF are essentially the superhero Beatles).Well, no. Right now that honor goes to Ant-Man & Wasp as oldest superhero team![]()

60's Fantastic Four could end up being a big ass love letter to the golden age of Marvel Comics with a bunch of Easter eggs and cool designs, making it look like a living comic book. That could be alright aesthetically. Maybe show Reed and them getting grants from Tony Stark's father and them working with Hank Pym as far as MCU connections.
But then it's just a rehash of the Captain America movie. MCU is repeating themselves. And if they've been up in Suspended Animation for that long without him, then Doom would be like what? 100?
I don't know.
Its always the darkest before the dawn.
I don't think that would be an issue. If I remember correctly, there was a version of Doctor Doom that was around 500 years old since he was originally from Middle Age. The reason of his longevity was his wizardry powers combined with his scientific knowledge.
Peyton Reed made some comments about FF -if he were to do it they would be in the 60s and treated like the Beatles -and then lost in space and then fish out of the water -returning much like cap into the present day. I like the cut of his jib!
One reason would be that the whole world didn't consider them to be a superhero team. They were a family of adventurers.
Oh for God's sake Roberts, why don't you just freaking
