Kevin Fiege when he heard the news today:

I honestly couldn't even finish reading all those tweets but I got through most of them. I don't blame Disney at all.

Gunn is a friggin sicko and he needs help. That tweet about a 3 year old and the shower was beyond disgusting.

We all love comics and superhero movies kids, but I draw the line at racism, rape and pedophilia.
I saw his tweets at Star Wars fans needing therapy, that read a lot like projection to me. Now we know why.

I gotta admit I almost wanted to throw up reading those tweets. They were so sickening and disturbing that I’ll have to confess I don’t know if I can ever watch the Guardians movies ever again.

And it’s funny before all this news broke Gunn was being suggested for FF on here....

They won't have the rights back in time to sub in for GotG3, and the last thing we want is a rushed F4 film.

Not sub in for Vol.3, but perhaps future properties on the cosmic side of the MCU that were influenced/dependent on Gunn's position will now be switched up.

I know many were shocked that someone like Gunn got a big-time gig like GOTG because of his reputation for producing slightly off-kilter stuff. With the tweets that are now coming to light, I think we now know why they were rightfully concerned.

I gotta catch up with that too.

He went off on Star Wars fans?
Fairly recently too. The funny thing is that many of Gunn's supporters are pointing the finger at Cernovich for posting those tweets. What they don't realize is that he didn't compile those himself. Gunn went after the Star Wars fans first, then this started to show up, and he just got a response from some of them.

Long story short, let's just say that some of those fans, probably are part of a collection of, let's say..."Weaponized Autism". They love taking down people. (Just ask Shia LaBeouf) The massive task of collecting of his tweets has their finger printers all over it. Cernovich has been in contact with some of these people before.

The fact that Horn made the announcement rather than Feige is a tad disconcerting. I can't recall Alan doing that for any prior MCU personnel decision. With Feige's contract up next year I would hate for this to cause a rift.

It was the right decision. It shows that firing Gunn came from the top, and it relieved Feige of making this decision himself (which would have been awkward). As for Feige's contract, he has delivered 2 movies in one year which grossed a combine of over 3 billions and the best year for MCU, plus the rights of X-Men and FF are about to be reverted back to Marvel; there's no way that he won't return to Marvel Studios.

It was a snap decision by Disney.

lol he posted your article's source. All the relevant tweets are under that tweet.
It's not just the tweets. Look at the narrative being spun, and how it was reacted to.

Imagine if this were the smoking gun that brought down Disney at the last minute in this Fox deal. There's always a twist in the tale. They had to get rid of Gunn as soon as possible so as not to have their name dragged through the mud.

How on earth would the words of one director from one subsidiary of Disney be enough to stop its acquisition of Fox? Do you imagine that the Murdocks, with all of their own dirty laundry trailing behind them like so many tin cans, care about this enough to turn down $71 billion? If the Fox shareholders are that turned off by scandal, they would have cashed out their holdings years ago when Rupert's lackeys were hacking the phones of dead schoolgirls, coercing female employees into sex or accusing a child rape victim of enjoying his abuse. There's worse out there because this is Fox we're talking about.

This is the way the firing of Roseanne Barr was handled. Iger himself pulled the trigger. The higher-ups there don't play and they don't leave things like this in the hands of their underlings.

Fox is hardly alone in that arena. Fox along with the Murdoch are more of the rule, and not the exception. Media in general is a pretty scummy place.

The bigger danger wasn't so much as the deal being derailed, but the loss of value. Disney was put in a situation of being perceived of bias. Given how politically charged things are nowadays, that is potentially the makings for a very bad situation. Notwithstanding at the onset of the biggest acquisition in Disney's history when consumer engagement is going to make or break them when it comes to digesting Fox. They need all the consumer support they can get, and then some.

Between this situation and Rosanne's, they've done what was right. Not necessarily what was easy, but still right.

Exactly. They aren't called leaders for nothing.

Here’s a scenerio in which I think Guardians 3 could get shelved or delayed.

What if Chris Pratt and other cast members decide to leave their roles out of protest over Disney’s decision and loyalty to Gunn?

Apparently Dave Bautista is upset over it. No word from the other cast members that I've seen yet.

I don't see an evangelical Christian who's come up from Parks & Rec to tentpole star making an ultimatum that sounds like "If the 3-year-old molester goes, I go."

Bautista is good in the role of Drax but he’s easily the most replaceable of the cast. Chris Pratt would definitely be the hard one to replace.
