How can you possibly know how close WW came to being nominated for Best Picture? It's a secret ballet. There were ten potential nominations, but only nine films made the cut. If WW was thatclose why didn't it get that tenth nod?

Logan actually got a screenplay nomination, which is one of the "major" categories and maybe the best indication of a potential Best Picture nom after Best Director. So while we'll never know, in all probability Logan was the closest a CBM got since The Dark Knight.

The Green Mile is one of my favorite movies, never won a Oscar, and I can think of plenty more classic or good movies that also didn’t.

Also, DECU getting a Oscar for Suicide Squad of all things (that IMO Star Trek should have won) in my opinion underlines that Oscars are great for bragging rights and it’s a nice thing to have, but that is by far not the only thing that defines success or even simply a good film, especially when you consider that despite its one Oscar, that particular franchise is not healthy or even stable right now.

So yeah, Feige deserves the credits he gets.

And y'all are funny.

Feige may not have any Oscars yet, but the man produced multiple billion dollar grossing movies over the course of these last 10 years. Do you understand how big that is? Especially with B-list characters?

He's got everyone building cinematic universes for God's sakes. Give the man his due.

inb4 Someone talks about Deadpool's Golden Globe nominations.

Oscar talk is boring. Sorry.

I agree Disney didn't have a choice.

As for the precedent of effectively back dating the offense he's been fired for Gunn didn't help himself by not deleting those tweets when it surfaced the first time round. He knew they were bad, he'd apologized for them back then, but left them up anyway, only deleting them in a hurry when it all blew up again.

That alone would be grounds to justify the belated decision to fire him. They accepted his apology before and everyone had moved on, but Gunn left the offending material up, while in thier employ.

From a public relations perspective what else could do they do?

Gunn himself has taken the decision on the chin and apologized again. The first time this came up he learned posting that offensive crap is not acceptable behaviour. The 2nd time he's learned that leaving it there for anyone to find again later on was mind numbingly stupid.

Especially when he deserves a VMA.

Looks like we got a candidate to direct Guardians Vol. 3!

And actually PURPOSEFULLY funny from him, for once.

So after the shareholder vote next week, what will change? Does that mean the deal will be guaranteed to happen? With no chance for any surprise rival bids?

Yes. Done deal. No chance for rival bids. Agreement is sealed.

I just want it to be done as soon as possible, so we can at least hear Feige's plans, once he's free to share them.

Hey I was wondering regarding the Hulk rights since Fox had the distribution rights of the last 10 Dreamworks Animation films. Would Universal be willing to make a swap??

To get 100% of Sky? The likelihood is very high.

5:00 mark - actually it's worth watching the whole thing if you haven't seen it yet:funny::

Who do you guys think should do the score for the X-Men/F4? I never liked the Ottman score but I loved Jackman's score as well as John Powell. I wouldn't mind Matthew Margueson who did the score for Kickass on X-Men or Junkie XL.

As for F4, Michael Giacchino

Yeah. I don’t know if he will say anything specific before Avengers 4 but it will be great if he can at least say some general stuff like there being more possibilities now with F4 and X-Men rights coming back. And he will now have plenty of time to plan and integrate what he wants before the post A4 slate announcement.

I just want the classic theme from the cartoon to be used. I'll defer to the music afficiados on who should score it.

If the question is Michael Giacchino or anyone else, ALWAYS Michael Giacchino. After the unfortunate HansZimmerization of scores, it is nice to have a composer like Giacchino around again who actually knows how to write epic stuff.

I think Marvel will definitely do something like this for the X-Men:

You know, it just crossed my mind. The Marvel Studios fanfare getting updated to include the X-Men and Fantastic Four. It's going to be a beautiful thing.
