There's not much really happening 5 days from the meeting. At least I won't have to go far in this thread to locate the previous days' countdown when it comes to tomorrow.

Maybe it is a little early for me to submit that the Xenomorph Queen should be added to the Disney Princess line.

Nah, Elsa, the Xenomorph Queen and Padme aren't Princesses. Still waiting on those Disney Princess Leia and Shuri dolls, anyway.

And so it begins with the X-Men....

Marvel is resurrecting Uncanny X-Men this fall. Only X-Force, X-Factor, Generation X and X-Man to go... lol.

I love this merger.

Neither is Belle. At least the Xenomorph Queen is royalty. :o

So what's next for Roberts? He's proven that he can spend more than $60 billion on acquisitions but not a LOT more. There's not much left as far as publicly-traded show business companies... will he grab Lionsgate and World Wrestling Entertainment?

I'm watching the 90's cartoon all weekend. :D

WWE actually just made a pretty lucrative deal with Fox Sports, so they probably won't be up for sale anytime soon.

Lionsgate, and probably a few others are definitely targets.

Oh. Does that include streaming? If not, they could be a target but only for Netflix or Amazon. How funny would it be if the women of WWE were re-branded as Amazons? :pal:

Paramount , MGM etc

No, just live shows, but I think that is precisely why Fox wants to work with them. WWE technologically is pretty much already where all sports should get to. That's one of the great things about the company. They are always at the forefront of trying new technology.

Paramount can't be bought at this time, becauise Viacom is 80% controlled by 95-year-old Sumner Redstone. Relevant.
Viacom is actually falling apart. CBS is already trying to reduce their % in court. It's a big mess.

Viacom is highly likely to be split up and sold.

If CMCSA wants to keep trying to make itself another DIS they should go after ATVI or EA. Esports and videogame industry is going to grow tremendously in the next coming years and that will probably be the next big DIS acquisition target after they balance their sheets unless something very enticing comes a knocking before (for example DC or HB).

CMCSA should really focus on big telecom companies in Europe though, something like Vodafone would be a good acquisition for them.

I feel DIS should get Indy 1-4 distribution rights (and possibly future participation) from Paramount. Great timing too as Paramount is struggling, it won't add that much to their debt, it'll add to the streaming services, and keep all Indy movies in one platform. They should do it after the FOX acquisition completes.

Paramount will get some interest as ST is a good asset, for example. But yeah, it's a mess.

Just hope Comcast doesn't go after Sony. But on the plus side - What if that's a good thing? Maybe Comcast could negotiate w Disney to get Spider-Man back?

Disney shuttered Disney Interactive and the video game division of LucasArts. They must see video games as outside their core competencies, especially to do the latter.

I can't see any of the big media companies get into the game business.

Post Sky, Comcast may be tasked with trying to offload some businesses or markets if the DOJ is successful with its appeal against AT&T.

I keep forgetting that Paramount has those Indy films.

Negotiate for what?

And is there anything Sony wants that Disney have or will acquire from Fox that they could trade for the Spider-Man rights?

While they shuttered Disney Interactive and LucasArts (though LA was a shell of its former self by the time it got acquired. Seriously where the **** is my MI3 by Ron Gilbert or Full Throttle 2?) they also have been paying close attention and signing deals for LoL and Overwatch on ESPN+. Esports has grown tremendously and everyone is paying attention. If its growth continues, I can see traditional media companies getting in on this and it's what I'm currently expecting.

Good call out on CMCSA maybe having to wait out on the DOJ appeal though.

How much you think those Indy rights are worth?

50% of Endemol, for one. Any of the RSNs for another. However, those are worth more than the Spidey movie rights. It's also worth noting that we don't know if the contract was amended to keep the rights from transferring or whatever.
