Why would Feige make the announcement? Even if he were onboard, it's not his place to make the announcement. This is coming from Disney, not from some division of Disney. It's coming from the top.
Alan Horn is like the Deputy Director of Operations if this were an agency. He's the one handling all this sort of stuff.
Feige's the head of the studio and makes all the announcements regarding MCU personnel. When have we ever heard from Alan Horn about anything? In interviews he has joked that his job is to say "yes" to everything Kevin Feige asks for.
Alan Horn is the Chairman of Walt Disney Studios. A division of The Walt Disney Company. If it were coming from the top, Iger would have made the announcement.
The bizarre Cybernazi sponsored firing of Gunn has damped my enthusiasm for the Comcast deal as well. My biggest concern is the continued silence from Kevin Feige. If Kevin was onboard, why didn't he announce the firing? Did Horn make the call unilaterally, bypassing the Studio President? Did this rash decision create a rift? And, if so, will Feige look to move on when his contract is up next year?
I am confident in the integration of the FF and X-Men into the MCU with Kevin Feige at the helm of the studio. I would be a lot less confident with his replacement.

I think Feige would still have fired Gunn, but he'd been more elegant about it (i.e. not overnight). He'd also talked with the actors first and we wouldn't be seeing them angry and confused on Twitter.
If he was overruled, it wouldn't surprise me if it rubbed him the wrong way, given the way Disney's handled the whole debacle.
Iger doesn't need to concern himself with making announcements about personnel. That's probably what Alan Horn is there for.
And it's not Feige's decision here. It's coming from Disney, not from Marvel. Feige might agree with the decision once informed about it, but this is to do with the Disney company and conflicting with company policy and values, not merely a hiring or firing of a director for a movie for creative purposes.
Jesus, nothing will happen. Why d fans always look for excuses to panic and be pessimistic. Feige handled Ike for 8
It could be thatyears and Ike is a cheap, paranoid, sexist/racist relic. Even if Feige disagrees, he understands that it was Gunn's fault and he forced Disney's hand.
There is no reason for negativity so don't spread any.
Gunns firing is well above Feiges pay grade if you noticed all the reports say Disney fired him not Marvel. You wont hear anything from Feige.
Feige couldn't have fired Gunn. First off, it would look like it's coming from Feige. Imagine Gunn pleading with Feige to give him one more chance or to try to talk to the higher-ups about it. What can Feige do about that exactly? It's not like he can reconsider or promise to plead Gunn's case.
And second, it's Disney who is making the decision here. It is appropriate it comes from Horn.
There's no way Feige could've really softened the blow anyway whatever he said, because a firing is a firing, and fans would still have been up in arms about it anyway.
Gunn's firing is exactly within Feige's pay grade. He's the frikkin President of the studio. If Iger and/or Horn overruled him on a key personnel decision that could be a problem going forward.
I doubt anyone at Disney is really 'ok' about it. This isn't something they wanted to do, it was forced on them.
I'd imagine Feige would have been kept in the loop for the decision, didn't like but understood it, and will likely be tasked with sitting down with the affected cast to clear the air as best they can.
The whole thing sucks, but it is what is.
C'mon, man. You gotta do the good Fantastic Four! BEHOLD!....

And yeah, I can't believe it's this week, either!
I just hope Cernovich gets fired as well.
Gunn was stupid and brought this upon himself, but he's not the only one.
Cernovich is a self-employed extreme right wing media personality. The only one that can fire him is his followers, and they are LOVING what he does.
What is this Fantfourstic you speak of?

That's nothing. He also boasted about flashing a woman once, was accused of sexual assault, and on another occasion he sicced his followers on one of Roy Moore's accusers, calling her a liar.Including the rape tweets? Figures. Hypocrites.

That's the man who got Gunn fired over gross jokes.
Let's keep the focus in this thread on the FOX deal. We have dozens of James Gunn threads at this point.
