For some reason you don't seem to understand that there's a lot of people that watch the movies who don't watch Agents of SHIELD nor do they remember who Coulson is in the movies.

But by this point Coulson is more well-known to movie audiences than DC Comics' Batman.

No he's not. He guest appeared in some of the pre-Avengers films, but did not stand out. He died in Avengers and has never been seen in the films since.
Batman is one of the first things people think of when they think "superhero" and is seeped into pop culture.

Don't overestimate Coulson who is a nobody compared to Batman. Only the small audience that watches Agents of SHIELD know about Coulson.

Yeah, most people who watch the films don't watch AoS.

I like Daredevil...

So do I. Particularly the Director's Cut. I even liked the theatrical even if the removal of the Coolio plot left the film mostly empty (in the DC, that's essentially the A plot).

I think the Daredevil DC is a fine movie. But I have to admit, I cannot go back to it after seeing the Netflix show. It's just such a major downgrade from the amazing show we have for Daredevil, and it makes it seem worse to me than the movie is in reality anymore. Like I said either in this thread or another one, I think Daredevil is in the right place right now. I wouldn't want a movie franchise for him at this point.

The DC is definitely a big improvement.

Oh yeah, it can't compare to the show. The early part of season 2 is my favourite part of MCU TV so far.

Oh the show is better, no arguments there from me.

Season 1 is the king of Marvel TV for me. Heck, it is probably one of my like, 5 favorite things MCU period. I loved the cat and mouse game between Fisk and Matt in season 1. Nothing any of the shows have done has topped that for me, but it is unfair to really expect that level of enjoyment everytime, lol. It honestly might be my favorite show. I have high hopes for season 3, though.

I can't call it my favorite, but it would certainly be up there. Hard to top Westworld Season 1.

This is either a serious delusion or trolling. I am not sure which.

I'm sure they're serious because they've been saying this sort of thing about the AOS characters for years.

Which he makes literally every thread he posts in about. Derailing all discussion for those type of outlandish claims.

It’s not my favourite TV show of all, but my favourite MCU show for sure. The stuff with Punisher and Daredevil and their relationship and different levels of morality was most interesting to me.

Yes. It's perfectly fine to love the show and its characters, but claiming that they're as popular as Batman just opens them up to ridicule.

So interesting bit of news about the FX deadpool show. Apparently it was marvel who cancelled it not FX. Does this mean marvel already have some control over the Fox characters?

No, Marvel I believe has full control of animation. If I am not mistaken.

Its a curious decision when you take a step back and look at whats going on with the merger. Maybe the show conflicted with some of Disneys plans for deadpool.

The cartoon shows are not in continuity with the MCU, so very unlikely.

There’s an interesting and odd situation with Marvel/Fox and the TV shows and films.

On one hand, when one company buys another, there are strict rules that prevent them from discussing and coordinating plans during this ‘limbo’ period between initial agreement and closing. That’s why I have been very skeptical of reports that Marvel has a hand in Dark Phoenix and New Mutants as some have suggested.

On the other hand, Marvel is a “co-producer” with Fox, particularly on the TV shows, but also, theoretically, on the films.

While their involvement (presumably by Fox’s choice) has been much less than Marvel and Sony on Homecoming etc., there still is a theoretical relationship there. Prior to the deal, Fox should have been able to pick up the phone and discuss ideas with Kevin Feige (though they obviously chose not to do that often).

I don’t want to sound conspiratorial or get people’s hopes up, but it’s possible that Fox and Disney could have spoken to the judge during the early stages of this and discussed the unique nature of these properties because of the licensing agreement and received permission to coordinate specifically on the films and TV shows in a way that wouldn’t typically be allowed in a deal like this.:thf:
