Interestingly, the Silver Surfer is coming to a mobile game I play sometimes: Marvel's Contest of Champions. The game has had zero Fantastic Four content since it began, but they sent out an email to all players thanking them for 'a Fantastic Four years'

The monthly event in January is called 'This Man, this Monster' and we all know who that issue was about.

Good to see the shackles on the FF in other media are finally coming off.

A Marvel movie is filming in Italy in April next year. The local newspaper mentions "a recreation of Sarajevo attack". Sounds like Eternals or Black Widow.

Sources tell Variety that the deal for the original four Marvel shows includes a clause that prevents the characters from appearing in any non-Netflix series or film for at least two years after cancellation. That means that “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage,” and “Iron Fist” — which were all canceled this year at Netflix — could not come to the Disney streaming service until 2020 at the earliest.

I would say Disney is willing to try both ways. They say deadpool can be rated r. But if they can make it work in pg13 that could be even better. And I think disney should be so bold as to have it released in both formats.

2 years honestly is not that long. We have to wait for some Marvel movies longer than 2 years between sequels and such. So if they could bring these shows over in 2 years and continue them then, then perfect. I will be just as excited for Daredevil season 4 in two years as I am right now. Same applies for the other shows. By all means do that if they can

Hate to be the debbie downer here but I think it’s very unlikely that Daredevil ever gets revived and Charlie Cox reprises the role again after this news. Two years may not sound like a lot of especially in comparison to the time it takes for the properties that Marvel licenses to Fox to revert back(if they don’t meet the deadline) but that is still enough time for the cast to go and find other work as they’ve been essentially been released from their contracts so we may end up in a situation where people like Cox won’t even be availabile to due to new contractual obligations he has to fulfill by the time Marvel gets the rights back from Netflix. Same case with the other Netflix Marvel stuff. It’s likely Cox and cast will have already moved by then so Marvel most likely willl have to move on as well. Cox and the cast certainly aren’t gonna lie down and wait until 2020 for them to start working again so I’m afraid it’s pretty much over.

While I'm sad to see the series go before timit's time, I too think it's a long shot we see any of these actors back in their role. Hopefully this opens up paths for new marvel series of high quality like daredevil and inspired creators to do more characters proper justice both on the big screen and small.

I agree man. If not for this, then Marvel would be already making plans for FF & X-Men.

Checks and balances like this are important. I know this is a superhero board but there are some things bigger than Wolverine getting punched by Captain America. Besides which, Kevin Feige had indicated forever ago that they weren't immediately gonna start pumping out movies with these characters as soon as they got the rights back, so it's not like the delay now is any more significant than it already might have been.

Not to mention that they're already developing movies that they've been ostensibly working on for years like Shang-Chi & The Eternals. If they were to suddenly get back some of their most valuable IP with the snap of a finger and not some long process like we're seeing, those movies would likely be shelved for a later time.

Does everybody realize that we're ahead of schedule, not behind? This will almost certainly be wrapped up sooner, not later than they had originally planned.

And I'm sure Feige already has a detailed, long-range plan that isn't highly dependent on whether this closes in February or March.

It will be closed soon enough. After all the waiting I've done, I feel like a convict in the last few months of my sentence. I'm looking forward to being out in a few months, not thinking "damn it, I've still got a few more months to go".
