There was some confusion on whether the X-Men would be in the MCU or not since that Wall Street Journal article from a while ago seemed to have implied that even under the Disney Fox will still be making X-Men movies(the article even said Disney was going to let Fox make sequels to Dark Phoenix, lol).

Bob Iger has a new Interview with the Hollywood Reporter and he basically confirms again what we’ve all suspected: the Fox-licensed Marvel properties will be given to Kevin Feige for him to reinvent in the MCU. Here’s a snippet of the interview.

When he says “Kevin’s got a lot of ideas” is he saying in general or does he mean specifically in regards to the Fox-licensed Marvel properties?

Anyway there you go: “There shouldn’t be two Marvels” is as straightforward a confirmation you can get. Fox will not be making X-Men movies after the deal closes. Duh. This isn’t news since it was confirmed months ago but after that Wall Street Journal article I thought I should just post this just in case there was some question on what Disney will do with the Fox-licensed properties.
Well all of his comments before this were just vague "now their under one roof(Disney)" nothing was confirmed before and there could have be thoughts that Fox could squeeze in another movie or two before Marvel actually starts production on their own X/F4 film. It seems like they've had those conversations and a concrete decision was made.

He's probably saying: "Fox sucks. New Mutants and Dark Phoenix are disasters. Damn I wish we could have done this in time to shut those down. Deadpool we can work with and Kevin has a really cool plan for that. He also has plans for the mutants and the FF that would knock your socks off if I could tell you. But since the deal isn't finalized yet and we still have to function as two completely separate companies, and since I wouldn't want to ruin any surprises even if the deal was done, I'll just say 'Kevins' got a lot of ideas' because that's true and everybody trusts him and that's an easy way to get out of this interview without saying anything I shouldn't.":D
I really doubt Iger cares enough to have any kind of insight or opinions on New Mutants or Dark Phoenix. It's very below his pay grade. I bet it Iger's involvement in this decision was like a two minute conversation not even directly with Feige. I don't think he knows what Feige's ideas are just that his excited about it.

Daredevil is the one property that deserves a shot in the MCU proper. You can't have a whole MCU without Kingpin, Elektra Natchios or the Hand. The Hand is arguably the most badass group (next to the Hellfire Club) in the Marvel Universe, they have to give them their cinematic due.

I don't need Daredevil to have his own film as the show has been great. I can't see what a film can provide other than a bigger budget.

I would like cameo's in the films though.

No room for denial anymore when it comes straight from the lion's mouth. Fox Marvel will cease to exist.

This was plainly obvious the moment the buyout was announced (assuming it was actually completed).

I agree. The show is better than any film I think we'd ever get. Heck, the show is one of my favorite MCU things, film or show.

Agreed, the show is the best thing on Netflix. But it still doesn't mean it's not worthy of a good, Feige-produced, standalone movie.

Imagine Shadowland on the big screen. Or Wolverine/Elektra.

The show we have outweighs any of that for me.

I wanted that silver coin moment in Civil War but we couldn't get it because DD was banished to Marvel TV. I would not mind at all if we got a proper DD with good CG who isn't grounded

Except DD is one of the most grounded Marvel heroes. There is zero need for CGI.

DD works better where he is IMO. Especially since I have seen D'Onofrio as Fisk. I cannot picture anyone else.

I really don’t see the need to give The Man Without Fear a movie. Though Josh Whedon did vouch for the character to get a feature instead of a series; Marvel Studios ultimately reached a decision to let Marvel Televison have a crack at the character because according to Feige the character was better served on Netflix where they have more leeway on mature content than Marvel Studios. And I happen to agree. Daredevil’s general tone from the comics doesn’t really fit the MCU. Daredevil (especially after Frank Miller reinvented him) has this serious crime drama tone that wouldn’t really mesh that well with the MCU. Yes, I understand the Marvel movies have variance in tone — some can be more comedic, and some can be more serious but overall the inclusion of Daredevil might force Marvel tone the character down a bit. Netflix has a lot more latitude to portray a dark gritty show since there’s a lot less restrictions than a PG-13 film.

So I have to ask the people who keep asking for a Daredevil movie: Would a PG-13 Daredevil film made by Marvel Studios really have something as brutally visceral as Kingpin decaptiating a man’s head with a car door? I don’t think so, unless they go for an R-rating which they wouldn’t do.

If they do a big screen DD, then it should just be one of Marvel's smaller movies that they don't feel they need to release to blockbuster numbers. Treat it more like a film noir that they can stick in theatres at any time and they shouldn't feel the pressure that it has to perform like these other films. Just make it a beefed up version of the show. Don't have it in place of a different movie.

It's not the question of could DD work better as a tv series or a movie, it's the fact that we have a whole group of characters that shouldn't be regulated to just a Netflix show. Granted, we all love DD on Netflix, but why does he have to stay grounded on television? Why can't they treat it like X-Files where they had the series and big screen movies together?

Just IMO, Matt Murdock and his rogues gallery deserve a bigger platform.

They deserve quality which is what the shows gives them. End of discussion.

It is more important to me that they get Daredevil right than it is that Daredevil having his own movie with like Iron Man cameos and stuff (though we have seen him interact with other heroes, so even I am being pleased on this end). Daredevil is being done right. Maybe one day Daredevil will cameo in something, but I will trade cameos and such for him being done proper.

That was posted a few pages ago.

Unlike most people, I’m excited about Venom. I think Sony is going to pull it off fantastically.

Fantastically awful I mean.

Yeah, trainwrecks can be enjoyed too.

Speaking of trainwrecks, the trailer for Dark Phoenix might drop today or tomorrow....

"Midnight" showings more often than not start at 7 PM now, so you can probably shave that time down to about 48 hours or so.

Even better!

Also it is interesting to note that the writer of that article predicted a 45% score for "It" based on similar time frame between the embargo being lifted and the release of the movie. So definitely not a foolproof system.

Still, gun to my head RT prediction for "Venom" would probably be low 40's at this point when I take everything into consideration.

Yeah, it's definitely an imperfect science. I'd go with high thirties/low forties, too.

Is this a separate rumor from the one 2 days ago saying it would drop in 10 days? Trailer Track is denying that one.

They reckon it will be in the next month.

Y'all may be being generous with Venom's RT score. If SS and BVS got 27/28, I have a hard time seeing this do much better than that. At the same time, critics don't seem to dislike the Sony Spidey-esque films as much as the fans do. Spidey 3 did mixed with critics and is fresh on RT, TASM is certified fresh and even though TASM 2 is rotten with 52% it is still much higher than it should be.
