Holland has a 5 film deal. 4 with marvel 1 with sony.

We'll have to see if marvel and sony can do a deal to extend to more movies.

"They give you options and those could be exercised whenever. Like a cameo in Avengers," Holland says of Marvel. "I'm unclear as to which movies though. I do know I have three Spider-Man [appearances in other] movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. Holland has a 6 movie deal and the Sony/Marvel agreement is for 5 films. That is all true. But what we don't know is if Holland has a stipulation against being in the Sonyverse. It basically amounts to speculation.

Unlikely. Tom Holland signed that agreement when he signed on for Homecoming.

Always possible, but when this was making the rounds, Feige was always talking about the 5 they knew they had.

Theres 3 directions the whole spiderman thing can go.

Renew for one more and then reboot spiderman in the venom verse.

Sign a new deal with Holland and the MCU.Making some alterations like being allowed to have their own spiderman like Miles in Venom Verse etc

Sign a new deal with Holland outside Marvel post MCU and have him in the venom verse. (All tho the deal with Marvel may prevent this)

Shouldn't matter. Fox marvel shows will be coming over. Perfect thing for me to happen is they all come under feiges control. Even if he appoints someone to run them.

There is only so much he can do. I'm happy he's in control of some shows on that new platform, but he doesn't need to control everything. I'd like to see Marvel shows on different services, Netflix. Hulu, FX, etc.

He wouldn't have to do much as i said he could appoint someone to oversee them. The important thing would be they are not controlled by loeb and more importantly perlmutter. Feige and ike don't get along and as long as ike is in control of the tv then marvel will not be connected like they told us they would be. Also the tv shows aren't that good apart from dd and punisher.

Pretty sure you are watching different shows. Publisher was great and so was lc s2 and ur was much better than s1. Did s3 looks great as well. Runaways and cloak and dagger were both acclaimed. Your generalization and iver-simplication are bizarre.

True, but this is where someone like Landgraf comes in. He was a major force in arguably making FX the best home for prestige TV. He's obviously not going to handle a lot of Marvel content, but another show to go along with Legion is very possible. Feige is clearly putting his stamp on the shows on the new platform, so things are looking good right now.

Well I'm sure they're not intentionally making bad films, but I suspect some people at Sony (particularly Rothman and Arad) are looking at Fox and comparing the Fox Marvel films to the Sony Spidey films. Fox had some stinkers in there, but they also had some hits with relatively low budgets. Overall, I suspect Fox's Marvel films have been more profitable than Sony's Spider-Man films - because Sony spent so much on those films. With Sony's Spidey model, every film has to be a hit. With Fox's model, some poorly performing films can be absorbed.

And Venom is proving that point. It won't outgross the big Spidey films, but it will likely be more profitable, on box-office to budget ratio basis, than many of the Spider-man films Sony produced.

You and I believe that such a model is front-loaded and will ultimately fall apart, but Sony could point to things like Transformers and Fast and Furious and tell us we don't know what we're talking about.

Bottom line to comic book fans - a bad movie making money, like Venom did, is bad for us.

I wish I could go to Sony and just say, "Venom turned was able to turn a profit. Now imagine if it was good. Same budget, same actors, same story just told much better. Imagine how much more money you could have made with the positive reviews and positive word of mouth if you had spent a little more time on the direction and story."

Again wrong. If you actually thought that every Netflix marvel show would be dd s1 quality that's your problem and you had unrealistic expectations.DD is one of the best cb seasons out there, there was no way the subsequent seasons would be as good. Most of the Netflix seasons have been good and no one expected defenders to be Avengers quality. It was still solid and far from bad. Loeb is responsible or involved in shows like aos , dd, JJ, punisher, legion, cloak and dagger, runaways, Luke cage. Saying he is doing a badcjob at marvel TV is factually wrong.
