Oh man, Kevin Feige indicated that Adam McKay wants to work on a Silver Surfer movie. Please please please let this happen. I need a Silver Surfer movie in my life. Also, he said something about a Galactus "cameo" in Vice? I haven't seen it yet but can someone explain to me what he meant by that?
Adam McKay said a week or two ago that he'd love to one. Said it could be a visual spectacle the way speed racer was.

I think Rogue could put Cpt. Marvel in the hospital and she spends some of the film without powers. It would make her seem more vulnerable before she gets them back and has to take on Rogue again.

Isn't that the exact same thing I see people constantly complain about in the Netflix/TV Shows? That they want to see the characters using their powers, not stripped down without them? Heck, Iron Man 3 got those complaints too.

People complain, but a lot of damn good superhero flicks have the hero depowered at some point, including the sequels to both Superman and Spider-man, Logan and Iron Man 3. After we see Carol destroy a combined Kree-Skull armada and (presumably) punch a purple space god in the shnozz, it may be a good idea to have her power levels curtailed a bit in her second outing.

Hmmmm. Interesting. I wonder if the QT film ends up becoming a higher priorty?

News about something not Fox related

Interesting thing is Disney/Marvel owns all TV rights to Spiderman (under 42 or 45 mins long IIRC as per the contract). This is quite possibly another Legion/Gifted situation in the making. What will Sony have to give up to be able to milk the Spider verse?

So does that mean Disney would have to give the green light any spiderverse tv series? Which means it would force Disney and Sony to have to sit down again.

Correct. But again, we don't know what Disney got for allowing Fox to create Gifted and Legion. If it was just money, then I'm sure they'll be happy to be overpaid to license out the TV rights to Spidey to Sony (though of course a with possible outs and renegotiation windows. Not 90s Marvel in perpetuity like deals).

Could be an extension of the Spidey sharing live action movie deal, so long as the Mouse is still willing to play ball.

I would think for such an extension Disney would want to amend the contract with an expiration, or at the very least significantly loosen the grip that Sony has on the license and remove the BE they have to pay for each theatrical release.

*Fake* Spoiler alert: The plot of Captain Marvel 2

I would hope that maybe they could get a character package from Sony to use in the MCU. Maybe they could get Norman, Jameson/Daily Bugle and Otto Octavius. Characters that are important to the MCU overall

Id like to see a deal where Disney convinces Sony to take a backseat and lets Disney take complete ownership of the franchise but let Sony get a percentage of the box office for the next decade or something as a thank you for looking after the franchise the last 10 years. Maybe Disney lets Sony retain the animation rights so they can work on into the spiderverse but otherwise let it return to Disney/Marvel.

With the momentum Sony has with the license right now I don't see them making any deals that weaken their position any further. Either Marvel will approve a series or they just focus on the features. Considering the impact that Spider-Verse has made, Sony could just be floating the idea to build hype and making it harder for Disney to reject and face some PR backlash. Especially with the animated drivel that Marvel Animation currently produces. Many fans would just see it as an insult.

That's another possibility. Permanent transfer of certain characters. If you remember that was the rumor for Gifted and Legion (Galacturs and Silver Surfer). And we know Disney has traded for rights before (Oswald, Ego)

Disney offered something like that prior to 2015 and Sony said no.

Sony has 3 options here:

1) Overpay for the TV rights, which will have an expiration
2) Trade some rights/amend the agreement
3) Don't do a TV show.

Nerd backlash never works and will not influence this too much otherwise James Gunn would be prepping to shoot GoTG3 right now.

Marvel's mobile game Future Fight recently updated to include everyone's favorite superhero quartet. Check out the trailer now!

I gotta say Reed really looks pretty badass with a beard, and I really dig the costumes. I wouldn't mind if they use something similar to this for the MCU when the FF appear.

I was reading some of the old wikileaks sony stuff and saw this.

- Should the relationship prove successful then we create a mechanism that guarantees up to two more stand alone SM movies if released no more than 2 years apart otherwise the rights revert to us and a penalty is paid (for example $100M per movie).

- also should the relationship continue beyond Cap3 and one stand alone then Marvel can continue to license SM to be a part of their other movies for a fee (for example $10M vs $20M per picture).

So where did the whole thing about the deal ending after FFH come from? This would indicate Sony wants a trilogy. And it looks like we could get more if marvel wants to keep paying.

And:

Something is happening behind the scenes right now

Would be awesome if the FF showed up in the sequel to Spider-Man PS4. Maybe the X-Men as well. Use it as a launch pad to expand the Marvel Game Universe.

“We are looking at a five-movie storyline — Civil War, Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, untitled Avengers, Homecoming 2 — or whatever we end up calling it — as an amazing five-story journey for Peter Parker, in the way that the events of Civil War directly inform the opening of Homecoming and his state of mind as he goes back to high school, so too will the events of the next two Avengers movies as he continues with high school. This original 22-movie arc ends with the untitled Avengers in May of 2019 and then two months later it will be Peter and Spider-Man (on July 5, 2019) that usher us into the aftermath and how things proceed from there.”
