I'm not sure if they included (and even lead off with) the "big reveal" in the trailer to entice as many people as possible- even the ones like us anxiously awaiting the MCU X-Men- to go see their last feeble effort, or because they just don't care now that the deal is basically done.

That and how been-there-done-that it looks. Those are my two thoughts.

I think that's it. If they didn't put something big in, nobody would be interested. Like when a comedy puts all the funniest parts in the trailer.

Alexandra Shipp’s wig looks crazy and she’s really attempting “the accent” again.

Yeah Kiki Layne, please actively pursue the role of Storm so we can see her the way she was meant to be depicted.

I bet Mags still won’t find out Quicksilver is his son.

Will we get another Dark Phoenix trailer or an announcement of a sequel from Kinberg on the day that the Disney/ Fox deal closes?

Sophie crying in the rain in the beginning of the trailer looked out of place and terrible. I get that that's the premise but the acting just felt bad, like she did one take just the day before the trailer released.

They should've had this song playing over that scene:

Hopefully something akin to the netflix Cloverfield announcement during the Superbowl.

"And DP is available to watch NOW. Only on Hulu".

I'm actually shocked that Disney is allowing this to even be released. This clearly is not trending well at all and it will further tarnish the X brand, not to mention ruin any chance for a Phoenix saga in the future. I'm hoping that once the merger is complete, that Disney steps in and stops this and New Mutants from being released.

What are the views up to now?
Maybe they're watching. Guaging if the social media interest is enough to continue with a theatrical release, or just dumping it into Hulu (please, please, please let it be option 2!!!).

I frankly don't think she's a good enough actress to carry the film - particularly not with Kinberg directing.

Disney cannot do or say anything about this or New Mutants or how Fox runs their business until the deal is signed and all the Ts are crossed and the Is are dotted. Alan Horn said as much. They have lawyer hounds around them keeping them at bay.

I have seen some people on twitter replying to XMen films and tagging Iger to dump it on Hulu lol. I would do the same if I had a twitter account.

Sansa Stark is a big, big miscast. She was kind of a low point acting wise on GoT and she's too ingrained in my mind as Sansa Stark for me to see her as anything else.

17M. That really isn't to good for a superhero movie these days. Not to mention the hype is pretty much nonexistent. Why would you remake a movie, darn near with the exact same scenes with no improvements at all?

Hence why I said AFTER THE MERGER is complete.

But I hope that Twitter thing gets a hashtag and Disney listens. I really doubt this does over $100M DOM and definitely not $300M WW. It's not just the box office, it's going to taint the brand at this point.

I don't want it to get a theatrical release, that's no secret. I've been saying it since it got delayed the first time.
I admit that this last trailer was better than I expected.
However, I've been around enough to not allow trailers to fool me. MANY movies have had good trailers, only to later show their true colors as mediocre to terrible movies. F4 ROTSS and The Last Stand are just 2 examples. Very fitting ones, since they're also FOX Marvel... So yeah, still sure this movie will damage the brand if it gets released.

If only this were simply a window into Kinberg's Truman Show fake world where trailers are running to give him the impression that it's going to be released and everything is going according to plan - well, his plan.

I think this will end up on Turner Classic Movies. :o

I think the trailer was alright but man they're not even attempting to hide spoilers like...

Mystique getting killed by Jean

Indeed, it doesn't take a Sherlock Holmes level detective to figure out that spoiler from the trailer.

You guys act like the general audience is aware of Dark Phoenix being the last of the FoX-Men movies. Guess what? They don't. They have a built in audience and people are just not excited for their films now that the MCU is so successful. It'll still make 400-500 million at the box office and you guys want it on Hulu? Sheesh.

It's crazy to even see Mystique having on a X-men costume. Was she ever an X-men in the comics? I don't think she was. This is that Jennifer Lawrence fatigue that people was talking about.

Bit of a double edged sword with the openning of that trailer. It has everyone's 'favourite' blue mutant, but it also apparently hints at a massive spoiler about her. Oh well.

I will bet you a finger that it won't make that much at the box office. And let's say it miraculously does(it won't but let's say it does)it's going to do damage like F4 reboot did to the their name. You do not want to damage the brand any further than you already have.

I mean this a serious and non-snarky way, but who is left of that built in audience? I used to be one of them. I was a pretty ardent Fox-Men defender and I've watched every Fox X-Men related movie in theaters, but I personally have little to no real interest in this movie for a myriad of reasons. I think 400 million WW might be the ceiling for Dark Phoenix.

Apocalypse still made close to 550 million. It does have some competition the following week with Men in Black and then Toy Story 4 two weeks after, but I still think it'll make around 400m. I think the trailer looks fine and the movie looks entertaining enough. I don't see it "damaging the brand"

Whether we like it or not, I expect:

1. It will be released theatrically.
2. It will get lousy reviews (I'm betting under 50% RT).
3. It will get decent box office returns (300+ worldwide).

There is a large built-in audience for X-Men films (particularly over-seas), and they're too far along in the process now to just stop.

Disney isn't going to throw that money away just because people like us and the creative people at Marvel would rather bury it.

Nothing wrong with 400 million. I think that's about where it'll end up. The audience is still there, Apocalypse still made close to 550 million. Sure, a lot of people have lost interest, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens
