I hope Marvel does something to celebrate the occasion - like a cool graphic showing their key characters together and a "Welcome Home" or similar.

That would be very cool. A stark contrast to a lot of Marvel merch that mysteriously removed the F4 and X-Men *cough Secret Wars

It's really the most surreal experience to realize that this is the last weekend for all of us to have an MCU without the Fantastic Four and X-Men....
 Truly. It feels like Feb. 2015 (Spidey) all over again, but magnified by 20x

I am swimming in brand new X-Men graphic tees. I just need Marvel to give us the Fantastic Four’s blue 4 shirt.

Please and hurry.

I'd introduce Mystique, Rogue, the Brood and the Shi'Ar in a Captain Marvel sequel
What about Captain Marvel. Should she appear in her own movie or nah

Sony Developing Agent Venom TV Show, Tony Revolori May Star
Another unwanted addition to Sony's parasitic cinematic universe. Pathetic.

EDIT: Oh wait, it's We Got This Covered again, which means that it's probably not true. Nevermind.

You should swim in X-Men trunks instead. No-one wants to see bottomless swimming even if you're covered up on top.

The future of the MCU couldn’t be brighter right now. It is far and away the strongest franchise right now.

You know it wouldn't surprise me if Sony had all these projects in development. They could be freaking out internally that Marvel is finally getting the F4 and X-Men back and could be worried Marvel doesn't need their Spider-Man deal anymore.

Is anyone worried about the fact that Captain Marvel will be the star of the MCU going forward?

I'd much rather it be Spider-Man but of course we know of the rights situation with Sony.

I think getting full control of Spider-Man is not on Disney's radar right now. I truly believe with Disney+ launching I see Disney buying any old Marvel related footage because Marvel has only 10 years of content they own.

I can see Disney using them getting the F4 and X-men back as leverage like hey "we dont care about spider-man anymore we got these franchises now which we actually own the rights 100%, you want to take spider-man back go right ahead, good luck with that but look at how big our sand box is about to get you dont want a piece of the pie? fine by us"

Sony needs Marvel more than Marvel needs Sony right now. Spider-Man came back a few months after the phase 3 reveal. At a time when they just announced Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel etc. They didn't need him. But Feige wanted to do what was best for the character at the time. But now? its a whole different ball game. Spidey is a nice to have but not a necessity for Marvel right now.

Captain Marvel was likeable enough so her being the new face of the MCU is cool. I doubt it’ll stay that way with everyone else coming back home.

With the right casting very soon I hope this guy atleast gets a shot:

Scott deserves it.

Well, it was probably never going to be him. I knew Marvel were never going to position him as one of the "leading characters" for that reason, unfortunately. Now if Sony renews for 6 more, definitely. The future will be secure and Spidey won't need anymore setup

Although Captain Marvel has no charisma I never pictured Spidey as the face of the mcu. He's too young and and the Sony deal would stand in the way. He could be the most popular, you never know, but he doesn't strike me as someone who could be the focal point of the mcu like Iron Man was. Maybe Black Panther could though, I'm at a loss as to who could step into that position honestly.

Black Panther = Iron Man
Captain Marvel = Captain America
Doctor Strange = Thor

That's how I see them playing out in the group dynamic.

With the FF and X-Men joining the party soon enough, there will be plenty of opportunities for characters beyond the original Avengers to step up.

If they get a good Fantastic Four, they could be the face of the MCU for Phase 4 and beyond. They need some charismatic actors for the 4.

btw just going back to the GOTG3 script conversation. This tweet was Gunn's confirmation he had finished script.

Sounds good. I also see a bit of Cap in BP and IM in CM.
