It will be nice to get over the one billion mark to start with. Once the MCU-X verse has the depth that allows a tale like IW to be told efficiently with so many characters involved, and in a comparable timeframe, anything could happen. It's not like these $2b numbers for the MCU were predictable after Iron Man and TIH. Even BP and CM weren't predictable even directly before release, and even despite all the MCU's box office success to that point. If they get it right over the next 10-12 years, all bets are off.
Right. The key to success, the number one thing Marvel has to do for the X-Men -- is get people to care about the X-Men. Get people invested in them. Give them a stake in the story & then build on that investment in subsequent movies. This is how the MCU has thrived all of these years; that's why Endgame is such a huge deal. A whole generation of people have grown up with these characters -- it feels like they are saying goodbye to a family friend now. And that's the problem with all of the X-Men films, the actual X-Men are an afterthought. The audience never has a chance to connect with anybody because the wonderful relationships and character dynamics are constantly being squandered by writers and execs who don't understand the X-Men.

I firmly believe that with time, Marvel can make people love the X-Men as much as they love the Avengers. Like you said, I hope that 10-12 years from now, a huge X-Men event like Muir Island, Age of Apocalypse or Utopia, actually matters to people. And it's not just another run-of-the-mill Singer-Men movie

Agreed. And I think the X-Men are going to become the biggest property in the MCU alongside the Avengers. They really need to get the right people in charge of these films, and if they do the potential is massive.

What I'm most intrigued about is what their plan for the Fantastic Four might be and what the goal is for the franchise.

I'm guessing go big and go cosmic. I'm expecting a huge focus on silver surfer.

Like, I wonder how much they expect the franchise to make. That will determine how much money they are willing to put behind it. What is the goal they want for it? After the Fox failures I'm just wondering how they view the property and it's potential.

Hoping they keep their expectations in check. I think they should look at Ant-Man numbers as an example of what to expect. The goal for the first movie should be just to make sure its good. Doesn't even need to be great just a good enjoyable film that sets up the franchise in an interesting direction.

It sounds like they want the MCU to push forward the cosmic side in general so the F4 can certainly play their part on that front.

Interesting that Fox is involved given they were just acquired. Maybe they are using this as a test to see how Ryan works with someone from Marvel?

Nah, not really how that works. If they wanted to know how they get along they'd just have some general meetings.

Also, Waititi is just acting in it, not directing/writing. He's also well established outside being "someone from Marvel". Actually, now that I think of it, he was in Green Lantern with Reynolds

EDIT: And Julian Dennison, the kid in Deadpool 2, was also in Waititi's Hunt for the Wilderpeople, so they have prior connections.

Ideally a MCU FF should make around the first Incredibles but realistically I'm just expecting it to make between the range of the first Ant-Man and Doctor Strange. So 650 million world worldwide.

I'm pretty sure if they had access to FF much earlier(like say they got the rights back in 2011 instead of 2019) Marvel would've made Fantastic Four instead of Guardians and that would be Marvel's big cosmic franchise. Now that I think about it: I wonder how different would that

Tommorow on the 29th of March the Dark Phoenix cast will come to Wondercon and obviously the subject of the Disney-Fox deal and it’s inplications on the current franchise will inevitably come up.

And here’s some scoopers giving out troll questions.

They’re so cruel.

Yeah, that's just fans being *******s to a cast that has no control over what the fanboys are beefing about.

This is from someone that found the majority of the Fox X films underwhelming at best.

But seriously... **** like this makes talent think twice about jumping aboard genre franchise films.

I wish someone would ask Kinberg about his sequel to Fant4stic and Dark Phoenix.

There's no reason for those guys to be dicks to the cast like that. If anything, those questions should be directed at Kinberg. Thats just being a dick

I am dying at those troll ass questions. I can’t wait to see how that turns out tomorrow.

Alexandra Shippwreck deserves everything coming to her.

Actively pursue that role of MCU Storm Kiki Layne.

Bro, what did Shipp do that was so horrible?

Leave the actors alone. Why sending hate or annoying them?

It's ridiculous.
