They would still be able to return to their continuities unaffected afterwards.
secret wars is the only way IMO too

There's a difference between saying "I think Marvel has the rights" and "I know they don't".
Yes. Which makes it just as ridiculous for folks to assume things like "I think they have them back already" or that if they were Marvel and had the rights, they wouldn't say anything.
So there's just as much an argument for saying we don't know as there is to pointless speculation when, as you said, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The only way I could see an MCU/ X-Men crossover working without affecting each of their respective continuities and without it feeling like it's just added on is to adapt the original Secret Wars. The Beyonder could bring both sets of characters to the Battleworld where, in this adaptation, he could have plucked them from different realities for a cataclysmic battle.
There would be no issue of why no-one on earth has heard of the other or treats the other group differently because it wouldn't even be set on earth. You could also potentially have characters from different time periods too, or even alternate versions of characters.

FF fans shouldn't hold their breath. That way if it ever does happen, it will be better. All the times they were constantly hoping it would happen didn't turn out in their favor.
The general thinking here as it has been for some time now is that the rights will revert at the deadline. I don't think anyone here believe FOX will attempt another film.
The "hope" that we all express is that it happens earlier than that so there could be potential setups leading into phase 4 with certain FF characters/villains. If it doesn't happen so be it. Life goes on as will the MCU. Its not like they don't have alternative plans.
The posts regarding what turned out to be the video game news say otherwise.I don't know if there are many folks holding their breath regarding the FF rights reversion. I know I am not. Discussing rumors regarding the FOX - Marvel relationship and the potential introduction of the FF into the MCU is no less healthy than the other silly conversations taking place in other threads. It's just part of being a fan.

There were two posts bemoaning the video game reveal. One was "I'm disappointed". The other post? - "bummer". What does the unhealthy obsession revealed in those emotionally raw reflections say to you?
You did this before, lying about other posts to position yourself as the voice of reason in a sea of unhinged fanatics. Your act is growing tiresome.
I'd call it a 1 out of 1000 chance it's FF (film) related.

Except there's no lying. These are alternate facts.
Speaking as a survivor of the Bowling Green Massacre, let me personally commend you, Ms. Conway, for your willingness to stand as a beacon of truth during these challenging times.

t:From what I've seen there's some who think the rights have already reverted, some who suspect they could have, and some who think they will before or with the next deadline. I don't think many expect Fox to try again, but stranger things have happened...
And when there is news of an announcement from Marvel the idea it could be FF related is a natural hope, but I for one would not expect it (least not for another year or so yet).
The bottom line is I don't think anyone has been certain in their respective position, ie: thinking they have reverted isn't the same as being sure they have. It's a thought/theory based on what we have seen occur over the last year or so since FFINO, which has seen Disney change tact quite considerably with Fox.
Personally I suspect the FF could have reverted in this time. The TV deal does open that up as a possibility for me. But I am not certain of anything.
So all we can do is watch what happens and wait for something that either adds weight to our thoughts and theories or diminishes them.On that score the longer there is no movement from Fox with the FF the better.
