Guys, I gotta say I'm picturing these things and I just hate it. Johnny maybe...I don't think the other three would be so concerned with public image. It's against their character. Also Reed should be a scientist, not an entertainer. No offense to Bill Nye but if you're one of the best scientists in the world, you don't have time to do a television show.

Sue does do talk shows from time to time in the comics. I can easily see Reed being duped into doing a show trying to get kids interested in science, but the producers increasingly introducing things that take away from the science makes Reed leave. For Reed it would be all about the science.

This is the best depiction of why Reed made the FF celebrities imo and I think should be the template for it in the films: https://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/424495.html?thread=11061295

The Imaginauts story is one of my favourites. It doesn't even have any action or a villain in it but is a really good character piece. It's almost everything that Fant4stic failed to get right. If they had just read that issue, Fox might never have ventured where they did.

I don't really think the FF needs a gimmick. They just need to be brought to the screen as they are, as faithfully as possible with an emphasis on the things that make them unique.

We haven't seen a team of superheroes in the MCU that is a team from the start. They aren't a loose collection of characters, they're a team that identifies as such, wears matching uniforms, etc.

We haven't seen a team of superheroes in the MCU with freaky super-powers. In Civil War, Spider-man was a real stand-out in terms of having amazing powers. Very few of the Avengers have real, freaky super-powers and when their suits, weapons etc. were taken away in CW, they were pretty much helpless. You can't make the FF ineffectual by taking away their suits.

We haven't seen someone as smart as Reed Richards in the MCU.

We haven't seen a character as interesting as Ben Grimm/The Thing in the MCU.

We haven't seen a woman in the MCU with the kind of awesome, limited-only-by-her-imagination power that Sue has.

We haven't seen a character like Franklin Richards in the MCU - a child who has universe-shattering power.

We haven't seen a character like Agatha Harkness in the MCU - a seemingly frail old woman who can use her mystical powers to be a complete badass when the situation warrants.

We haven't seen a team that are primarily scientist/explorers in the MCU.

It's not about finding a gimmick to make them stand out. It's about understanding who they are and portraying them right.

I just know Marvel would nail Reed and Sue as married superheroes as well as Ben and Johnny's relationship, the whole explorers of the unknown element, the sense of adventure, weirdness, fun and excitement of the Lee/Kirby era. I also think they would treat Doom with a lot of respect, and I know many people don't like Marvel villains (I loved Red Skull,Loki,Ultron,Ego etc.). Also they would nail Galactus as they did with Dormammu and Ego.

Franklin and Valeria are a definite strength of a franchise that I hope will be included in the reboot. Working parents trying to raise the most powerful mammal in the universe and a potentially evil super genius is a great hook.

Yes,I would start the franchise with Franklin and Valeria already born. You'd need terrific young Actors though.

But this time you do mean Johnny's niece, right? :funny:

Despite what Simon Kinberg :whatever: says, it's not that difficult. There's a huge wealth of great stories there. Just choose wisely and do it right.

If Doom is established in the MCU does anybody think they should introduce Lucia Von Bardas?

I'd definitely like to see her at some point, but with all the potential stories they can do, I don't know exactly how or when or where I'd introduce her.

If she has a younger sister, then to distinguish between them, they can call her Big Bardas. :o

Exactly why it will work so well. Ben, Sue and Reed will struggle with fame and we can see how they deal with it, while Johnny revels in fame, girls, late night drunk tweets etc.

Ben and Reed will eventually feel too awkward with the attention and doing the press runs. Maybe Sue will continue to do a few radio appearances on the Patsy Walker show.

The Fantastic Four have always been a team that had a good public image, fan appearances and even merchandise deals. That's what separated them from the X-men and made them acceptable to the public.

Y'know, 1 way to fit in an origin story for Doom would be to have them in college in a credits scene. Reed is walking by a lab and sees something that interests him so he goes in pokes around and then is confronted by Doom (pre-kaboom-Doom). Reed starts to talk to him about some of the problems with his research, Doom goes ape, and Reed leaves. Then Doom Kaboom. It could be nice and short and I think it would generate a lot of excitement.

Does Fox even own her?

Her first appearance was in 2004's Secret War. They could simply change her birth place if Fox is still acting dumb.

I doubt Fox owns her, but the Latverian angle is pretty cool. They've already had to change a lot of things to get around Fox. Hopefully they'll soon have what they need to do things right.

If they have to work their way around her most basic origins because of FOX I would rather they not use her. Thats a good question though. I really would like to see her with Doom when he makes his MCU transition.

Do you think if FOX asked Marvel for permission to use Taskmaster in Deadpool in exchange for Doom's rights to Marvel that Marvel accepts that deal?

Wow you are on the money my friend. I disagree about invisible woman though, I feel like scarlet witch is bound by her imagination somewhat/even doctor strange to some degree

I think Marvel would take that deal, but I don't know about Fox. At some point they've got to do an all or nothing. If Fox loses Doom and other key characters in small deals, they'll be left holding a big bag of nothing.

Your right. I don't know how long FOX could continue that charade. The clock is ticking as is.
