They also confirmed that Spider-Man's spider-sense goes off as soon as the bridge appears (during TASM1 final swing) was in fact an easter egg. Hmm. I wonder.

This. And saving the kid in the same fashion, and throwing Gwen out the window, and Peters promise at the end. Really even without the trailers that foreshadowing alone is enough. I've been saying from the beginning that she'll die in TASM2. Of course there's like a 1% chance she won't but I seriously doubt she will live past this movie. You can only do so much foreshadowing before it becomes...forelighting? Like a lightbulb in your face you want to switch off because its too blinding.

Agreed 100%

It would feel like such a tease if Gwen made it out alive of TASM2.

Agreed. I would honestly be the most shocked person here if she survives this film. And a little upset to tell you the truth.

Wow a character the fans like but they want her to die so badly

Look everyone liking the character is great, but she's has to die at some point right? I think so. And It will most likely happen in this film.

Honestly, I feel the reverse (as of now). I would like to be a bit surprised when she dies, and if she does die in this film, then it's been all be given away in the trailers. However, because the clues are so heavy handed, it is one of the reasons I think she may not. It's somewhat surprising that they would put so much of it in there.

Still, it all comes down to execution. If it's handled well, I won't mind. It still doesn't sit right with me though. I don't see the point of building up Norman as the big bad and not allowing him his most iconic moment as a villain, and I really would like MJ to be an established presence before Gwen bites it.

Yeah, it is kind of a shame that they have been pushing it so much in the trailers if she does die. Then again, we were all expecting it to happen eventually so shouldn't be surprised thT they're trying to get peoples attention by pushing it. It's a great hook, and Sony are a business at the end of the day. It also leaves a great deal of surprise for the GA though as they'll be expecting her to get saved.

If it doesn't happen in TASM2, then we'll just be expecting it to happen in TASM3 anyway.

I have noticed something interesting. In the "Rise of Electro" trailer, at 2:21 we see Spider-Man diving to save Gwen but in the next shot see him landing on a gear and shooting a web that catches her.

Now, notice the gap between the gear, on which he landed, and the broken rooftop. It's too small. There is no way the shots that i mentioned are continuous. They probably edited it this way to make the general audience think that she is saved.

Yeah, you're probably right. I don't think the shots are continuous either.

^ Yup, no doubt, they are edited out of continuity.

If anything, this is actually being done to (poorly) to show that Gwen will be saved.

Look, I too am a bit disappointed they made it so easy to figure out. I mean, to me, the story demanded that she die at the end of TASM2, which is what I've been arguing for the past year, but as more and more evidence has come in it has become almost blatant.

I don't think this is Webb. I'm sure he would have rathered the fanboys and all not see it coming, but as we've seen with other movies, the Marketing people can't be controlled. They just take the footage and put cool trailers together. And the trailers have been really good, but has just given so much away. Effectively, the Marketing people are idiots, as far as hiding things, but genius as far as getting the GA to want to go see this movie!

The point though is that this is not Webb telling the Marketing people to show us all of this so that he can play a little joke on us fanboys, by not having Gwen die in TASM2, but then to go ahead and kill her in TASM3. That would be beyond stupid. Look, Gwen's going to die. That's what she does. That's her purpose. So, as others have said, if it didn't happen in TASM2, then it would happen in TASM3. But remember, this series was originally planned as a 3 movie story. So they needed to tell the tale of Gwen in 3 movies. That means she would need to die at the climax, which is usually somewhere in the middle. This is why I've been arguing that she has to die at the end of TASM2, and I think I've convinced some along the way. And at this point, with what they've shown us, most others have jumped on board as well.

So strap in and prepare to see a sobbing audience, because this one is going to hurt!

If Gwen lives in TASM2, then this really would have been a cruel joke to fanboys. Otherwise, what purpose would Marc and co. have in teasing the character's death and just letting her live?

And as I've said before, if she doesn't die in TASM2, she's probably not going to die in the third film either. How many times is her life going to be in danger? Is Spider-man going to have to catch Gwen (again) in the third film? Probably not. It would just be too repetitive. Its now or never.

I just hope that they are not going to pull off something like Iron Man 3 did, where you thought that the protagonist's girlfriend died and in the next scene she is revived. But i don't think so. Webb is too smart to do that.

If they did a fake-out, it would probably be something similar to what happened to MJ in Ultimate Spider-Man. She gets thrown off the bridge, Peter webs her and pulls her up, thinking she is dead. He cries over her body, but then she wakes up.

I sincerely hope this doesn't happen. Everything suggests that she will die, so she'd better die.

As I've said before, if Gwen lives in TASM2, I don't think she will ever be killed off in the future films. It just makes a lot more sense for it to happen in this movie.

I wouldn't worry about that man. She'll die in this one I'm sure of it.

Yup. Also, in the sizzle trailer he is very emotional at 3:07, so i doubt he'd be like that, if he weren't sure that Gwen was indeed dead.
