I think Superman should have a CGI curl in his hair.

Nobody said they should give him a CGI mask. Speaking for myself, i proposed using CGI on the neck. Instead of pads and other such solutions, they could just put together cape and cowl by using CGI in between. Its that simple. You guys do know that Transformers and Ironman are all CGI right? RDJ barely used the practical suit, which btw also requires CGI to polish it and make the plastic look like metal.

I just really like CGI for a white eye effect like GL. But, more like the posters than the actual film, which I think looks weird with the pupils showing.

Not saying I would want a CG mask necessarily, but the funny thing to me about all these people railing against the idea of a CG cowl is, if for whatever reason Nolan decided to go that route and just didn't tell anyone, they'd probably be none the wiser.

Until we got set photos of Batman without a mask, and with markers all over his face. Then it would be pretty damn obvious.

I thought the sonar lenses did a really sweet job of giving Batman the white eyes look, and aside from how segemented over overly-textured the TDK suit was, I thought it was great. Honestly I think its awesome that you see his pupils because Bale is able to convey emotion with a glance that he could with... CG-EYES (get it? lol)

I want Bane to break Batman's back like in comics. Then Batman would win him with some kind of Bat armor.

I want it to be combination of these

This is from the first comic book I ever owned.

I'm sick of armors at this point. I know we'll be getting a rubber suit but please, make it more akin to the comics, give us something original (on film). I read that The Shadow was one of Finger and Kane's biggest influences next to Zorro when they were making ol' Pointy Ears, why not draw inspiration from that? Nolan's Batman has a touch of film-noir about everything, so Batman interpreted as a moving, nigh elemental fragment of the night would NOT be akin to Tim Burton's Batman, in fact, if the suit is designed around this theme it could become an ambient symbol, a throwback to the accentuated shadows in film-noir, rather than being a Gothic beast. Why not reemphasise the Jungian Archetype of the shadow as well?

Yes I know, I'm obsessed with penumbras this week.

This one makes so much sense that it should be it's own thread and everyone should send this to WB...

Thanks!

I'm sick of armors as well. If he makes a bigger one just to beat Bane it will be such a cop out.

I wouldn't mind a full armor suit with an exoskeleton structure if...like in the DCU Online trailer...he was fighting with the JL against superbeings with missiles and such. That would make more sense. But for TDKR, they should stay consistent with the last two movies in terms of the rationale/approach to the suit design. Probably just keep the same suit as TDK.

While I don't want a thick metallic armor design, like at all, I still don't want to only see the TDK costume for all of TDKR.

Frankly I doubt thats even going to happen. Nolan does have a lot of control but based on toy sales alone I'm sure WB has asked him to include a new Bat suit. Plus its become sort of a staple anyway.

Not having a new costume would be pretty lame as well. I welcome a new suit.

Well...they'll have to come up with a storyline in which he switches suits again....if Lucius Fox is still working with him.

How about the BB suit, and the TDK cowl...with new gloves?

Along with a lighter coloring to the armor a shade of lighter dark gray. Absolutely.

No TDK cowl though. There are big problems with it and something needs to be done about it. Stiff neck and ring necked bobble head are still pretty bad.

A new cowl along with some of the things I noted in combo with your recommendation minus the TDK cowl suggestion would be enough for me.

I still like the 'fit' of the TDK cowl around the jaw area better than the BB one, though. And yeah, it looked bobble-heady, but only from the front, really (which is important, obviously :O) the mouth area along with the uber-thick neck on the BB cowl bothered me more than anything on the TDK one, to be honest. On both, I wish the ears pointed more straight up instead of tapering inwards.

But I think the TDKR one will still be in the same approach...I doubt we'll get a tights/cloth one more like the comics. For future movies...I've always been keen to the shorter-ears designs.

I guess I should be more specific. I actually like the ears and mask proportions in both costume its the neckline area which is what bothers me in both, BB he has stiff neck syndrome and in TDK he gets a skinny ringed neck. The opening for his mouth in BB IMO was still really good, I liked TDK's as well but the ringed neck ruined it more so for me than the stiff neck.

I just hope they do something about the neck area thats all I'm asking for really. If they fix that and barely change the rest of the design from TDK I'll still be pretty content although the puzzle/jigsaw outfit should preferably go away and be more streamlined in the appropriate places with the same amount of mobility intact in both limb movement and the neck area as well.

Here's Kilmer's cowl from BF, I believe....

...I think it was the best out of all of them. The only thing is that he has such close-set eyes and puckered lips that he looked goofy in it. And you could tell how stiff the neck must have been with that rubber construction. But it's a very good shape, and I like that ear profile, although I'd prefer it a tad shorter.

The BB one just had that weird oval-like shape/feel to it.....

whereas the TDK one was a bit more angular around the mouth, and sleeker in the cheek area, but still had that ear profile htat I didn't like....

I know that the BB/TDK ones are reproductions, and it's a bit different when not on the actual actors' heads...but it's still good for highlighting the differences.

Both Nolan cowls are pear shaped and the mouth openings are weird, mostly because of all that rubber on his cheeks. His head is burried in there and somethere there's a jaw sticking out.

Yeah, in BB...probably aided by Bale being a little bigger overall...it bunched up his cheeks quite a bit and looked odd. Altogether, the suit/cowl are the only real downers from the Nolan films for me. But they haven't really bothered me since the films are so good.

But you look at the Kilmer one, and it's like BANG...that's f'in Batman...like he could cut you open with his head. ;) If they could do a design like that, but have it flexible enough for his head to move/swivel around and maybe reduce teh jaw cutout a bit...I think it'd be the bees-knees.

For some reason i dont like Kilmer's cowl. Its too cutesy. I dont know why. For all their clumsiness, Nolan's cowl were agressive and manly.

Maybe a little TOO slick/stylish? I could see how someone would feel that. I think Nolan was maybe going for something more raw/beast-like...but for me it was a bit too raw, and definitely too pear-shaped.
