To get to 92% it's going to need a LOT of positive reviews without a single negative one.

There are a ton of positive reviews out there still. Since TDKR draws more comparisons to Begins, I expect some mixed reviews because Joker was the ultimate villain and TDK is a classic in its own right. That's the downfall of trying to top the previous great film -- it's a hit or miss situation.

The tomato meter will probably end up somewhere around where BB was, but the Average review will probably be in the 8's, which is higher than BB.

BB was somewhere in the 60s wasnt it? Not sure about u but of this film ends up there....people will lose hope lol

Ahh alright thanks for clearing that up

actually BB was in the 60s--with Top Critics

Rotten Tomatoes gives an overall % and also a % from only what are considered top critics
there is also MetaCritic which has higher standards for being allowed on the site than RT

TA gets a 92% RT but 69% on Metacritic  BB/TDK both scored higher on metacritic and so is Rises at the moment. The RT for Rises should be updated later this evening.

i see a $190-205 million opening.

$180, at this point, seems like the baseline.

meta critic has a bad system. I understand their concept, but what throws it off is they use such a limited number of reviews, so when Avengers has 4 more reviews than TDK, with 3 of those mixed and one negative, where TDK among their critic pool had one more positive review than TA, and no negatives.

The reason why metacritic isn't as good as RT is that their sample size is way too small. For a large film like TDK or Avengers, their sample size is barely more than 1/4th of what RT surveys. I like how they will rate a midgrade review, but at the end of the day, usually critics say this movie was "good" or "bad". You can get the same info that metacritic gathers by looking at the average review score on RT.

RT thinks Devin Faraci is a top critic. That should tell you something about how seriously you can take RT.

Peoples obsession with RT never ceases to amaze me.

Well RT has TDKR at 87% which I think is good considering even more people will see it tomorrow and on opening day so we'll see heckuvalot more reviews pop up soon.

What in the world did we ever do before RT was invented?!?! :woot:

Read the review in the newspaper from our local critic, maybe saw another national review on the news.

Then we moved on with our lives...

I know, I was just joking around.

CosmicBookNews is also reporting that TDKR is tracking bigger than TA. The real question is, will people see 'Rises' in droves similar to TA?

Don't get me wrong it has its uses, but some fans act as if the film lives or dies by the website.
