In a cover story in today's Wall Street Journal ('Film Studio Faces Delicate Balance') a moviegoer is quoted as saying 'I didn't want us to go...At a movie theater, you're sitting ducks.'
In my hometown paper (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 'Theaters take precautions after Colorado shooting') a woman is quoted as saying that her fifteen year-old daughter 'has sworn off going to the movies because of the tragedy.'
And this morning at my weekend job, a perfectly rational, mature, intelligent co-worker said that she couldn't see the movie now 'because (she) would be thinking about the shooting the entire time.'
I realize that these are all anectdotal, but I believe that this is going to have at least some affect on the box-office, not to mention that Warners has halted all advertising.
