I remember about a year ago having arguments/debates with people here who thought somehow that it would not cross a billion and do worse than TDK. Hell some were saying it would gross less than inception.

It's made about $27 million in 7 days, why wouldn't it make another $50?

Inception made about $65 million in China, and Avengers has made about $85 million

I'd say it should definitely overshadow Inception, which is $38 million away, even if it doesn't reach Avengers numbers

Also to note, so far it's almost $2 million above my 10-weened projection meaning domestically $450 million is in play.

So by September 23rd, it should surpass $440 million domestic.

Naw I think it will cap out at 1.090b. It doesn't have a lot of legs in the rest of the world besides China and I doubt it grosses enough there to push it to 1.1b. Would be nice if it does though of course.

Had a pretty solid Italy opening, still some money to be had there, in the UK it's still pulling in decent numbers too. And correct me if i'm wrong but it's been #1 at the international box office for a good 6 weeks straight, it's got enough legs to get another $100 million IMO.

Yep. Batman has far more pulling power than some gave it credit for, including myself. I was one of those who didn't think it would cross the billion again.

Predicting “worse than TDK” has an odd connotation - as if $825M or so (Inception’s #) represents bomb/disappointment. I admit that I didn’t think TDKR would do as well as its predecessor. This is proving to be the case for its domestic take. Moreover, the pattern for BB/TDK was in the range of a 55%/45% domestic/foreign split. But as it happened, that pattern was reversed for TDKR.
