First of all, any kind of Batman movie, regardless of the villain, is going to put the butts in seats. Batman is just a popular character. But to say that The Joker is "just an ordinary villain that has no extra draw" is a bit ludicrous to even think about. Is he the primary draw? No, like I said earlier, Batman is a popular character. But does he help bring people to watch the movie more than any other villain? Of course! He's the most recognized and iconic villain in Batman's rouge gallery. To say otherwise, is just an insult to the character.

Yeah fair enough.

He is a huge draw. It is no coincidence that the two highest grossing Batman films before TDKR both involve the Joker.

TDKR however is fast on its way to being the highest grossing Batman film ever and without no Joker that is a huge acheivement.

Although I find it almost impossible to happen. I think Tom Hardy would make a great Harvey Dent... He'd easily be able to interchange his personalities if they play it more like the Arkham City Dent.

Nice vid, thanks for posting, some interesting designs, we never really got to see in the film what her head gear did sadly.

Yeah, this thread is very popular with deleted scenes :funny: Of course, the Mods won't allow us to read these scenes again, and for good reason.

Very good read that, again props for posting it.

Certainly makes some very valid points and agree with much of it.

Honestly, for 2 weeks, I've had this same feeling. Ledger's performance is iconic. No getting around that. And this is not a case of "out with the old, in with the new".

Hardy is just on another level with this performance. This generation's Darth Vader?

Why the hell not...

I think Bane is on the same level as the Joker. Hardy transformed himself more IMO. It said a lot about his ego that he excepted such a role.

Bane really did feel iconic to me. It combined a lot of great individual elements of great movie villains and rolled them all together into one unstoppable package, all while doing a great and worthy adaptation of the comics character.

Just like The Joker, pick pretty much any one of his lines from the film and it's great fun to quote.
