I think Bane is on the same level as the Joker. Hardy transformed himself more IMO. It said a lot about his ego that he excepted such a role.

Yes.

Honestly, what I need right now to pass the time until the Blu Ray hits this winter is an mp3 that has all of Hardy's dialogue from the film.

Seriously, his voice has been stuck in my head since the 20th of July. On top of that, just the image of him walking, grabbing his straps on his vest, walking like a pimp born from hell is just pure money.

Think about the speech at Blackgate. If that scene would've gone on for another 10 minutes, I wouldn't have had a problem with that whatsoever...

For some reason the first sewer scene is stuck in my head "Why are you here?" sounds ridiculously creepy and awesome.

Honestly, for 2 weeks, I've had this same feeling. Ledger's performance is iconic. No getting around that. And this is not a case of "out with the old, in with the new".

Hardy is just on another level with this performance. This generation's Darth Vader?

Why the hell not...

Yeah, after the first viewing I was like, is Bane really as good as I think or is it just "cool new stuff" syndrom after a couple more you realise he does stand out a great deal, maybe its still too early to make a final decision. Maybe the time the dvd rolls around it will be easier to judge when viewed alongside Heath's.

But the fact that Bane got so close to even be talked about in the same breath is an achievement in its self after the, right, praise that the Joker got. Heath's will be iconic for a long time and the amount it has been used in other media and spoofed indicates its popularity in pop culture but Bane seems to be getting closer and closer to that level of popularity.

After the Joker I thought it would be a long long time before we saw a movie villain of that calibre again, it had been sometime before the Joker, since I can remember another one, but to get one so good in the next Batman film surprised me but so glad we did, otherwise if Bane had been a weak final villain it would have been easier to point to the TDK as a one off by Nolan and not able to repeat that level of work.

As it was, in my eye's anyway, he pretty much got lightning striking twice which is rare talent indeed.

I'm gonna' go out on a limb and say this now. I reckon Hardy is well deserving a of a 'Best Supporting Acton Nom'. He obviously won't get it though.

Let-down after the hype leading in...but not decidedly love or hatred. Kinda' 'there' in comparison to the other two movies. And now it's all over, so time to move on.
did LOTR fans say goodbye when Return of the King was realesed? i dont think so. form my experience when a trilogy is finished more people talk more about all 3 movies and the last movie together. this is not happening here. it is very strange.

i am not trying to say that people didnt like the movie. this is not about good or bad. i think people dont care about TDKR even when they liked it. thats the worst it could happen .

Is Bane like a 24-style villain? Like a terrorist?
Kinda. I mean, he does threaten the city with a nuke, ala Season 2. And it ends pretty similar too. :cwink:

By the way, I'm almost done with Season 3.

Bane's a Metal Gear Solid styled-terrorist villain, without a doubt. I guess some of his henchman are a bit 24ish though.

Mason's death was in season 2, right?

Great show. Season 5 first few episodes and last few will crush your soul then blow your mind

Hyperbolic post is hyperbolic.

Definitely deserving and definitely wont happen.

Oh, I've seen the entire show, but I went back to watch them. I only planned on watching one season(cause they're so long), and started with 5, but realized how much I like it, I started over with season1, and now I'm almost done with 3.

I guess so. I mean the main villain did change toward the end of the film which I swear happens every season :funny:. Although Batman did have a Jack Bauer "WHEREEE IS ITTT" moment which was nice to see.

Bane is far more successful. There is only so much **** a terrorist can do when Jack Bauer is around.

Just finishing Season 7.

I actually agree with his assessment. I enjoyed it, but it left me feeling very indifferent afterwards, and for all the time I devoted to anticipating it I never would have figured that.
