I'll be skipping Arkham origins and going straight to the next gen Batman game Rocksteady is working on. This spinoff by an untested, amateur studio is making me cautious.

BatLobsterRises, well said. Here is to the new Batman on the big screen. :batman::batty::up:

Personally, I don't really mind that Batman will have to share his popularity with Superman. I fully welcome it. In my opinion, this is something that has been needed to happen for a long while now. The way I always viewed Batman and Superman is that they both have to be at around an equal level in order to maintain balance in the DCU (from a thematic point of view). There are 2 sides to justice: hope and fear. Superman is the force that strikes hope into the hearts of good people whereas Batman is the force that strikes fear into the hearts of bad people. Both of these things are required in all superhero stories. This is also part of the reason why Batman and Superman respect each other so much even though they don't agree with their own methods. Superman knows that Batman being out there doing his non-by-the-book thing is just as important as his own by-the-book methods and Batman knows the same thing vice versa.

Game looks great to me so far. It looks like they brought all of the best elements from AA and AC back into this game.

And actually made Bane look cool, not like that goddamn pseudo-Hulk abomination from the first two games.

Loving the circus that is the MOS forum. Performing psychoanalysis on a bunch of people they've never met because they didn't give you the ratings you made your mind up about when it was first announced. MOS must be getting bad reviews because they hate Snyder, love Reeve too much, only like comedy, or are Marvelites, anything but the film's own merits.

but what if you are a Snyder hater that loves Reeves too much who only likes comedy and are a marvelite?

I was laughing at the chaos at the MoS board over the RT scores but then I remembered that this board was exactly like that too back in July. :lmao:

This board was much worse, and TDKR didn't have nearly as low of a score.

Yeah, I just don't understand why people put so much stock into rotten tomatoes. It's a good reference to look up movies but that's about it.

There was an outstandingly hilarious gif someone made with Bruce climbing out of the pit towards a 90% RT rating :p

Yes, I loved that! Damn I wish someone has a copy of it and post it again. And that 5 stages of dealing with the TDKR RT score. :woot:

OMG I remember that! :lmao:

The embargo ending in the week's debut was a warning. But I expected a higher score.

Warner needs to be more cautious in the sequel, especially with snyder and goyer.

I had to really dig for this lol

Those poor Superman fans could probably use a gif of Supes flying up to 70 right about now

No seriously though, who cares about RT. If anything I think this surprisingly mixed critical response is going to cause people to lower their expectations, only to be even more blown away and perplexed by how much they like the film. We'll see though. Nothing is guaranteed of course.

I liked the gif that Batman11 made. I think it was that gif of him climbing to 90, and then he falls, and the score goes to 85, and then you see Bruce scream.

Ahh yes, I remember this. I was one who tried to calm down other posters, but you can't...they will go nuts as soon as the first negative review shows up. I don't go around the MOS forums that often, but I can only imagine how it's like, especially with the critics score at 68% now. But hey, they still have about maybe 250 reviews to go until they get that final RT score.

I'll still be watching it Saturday though

Would watch it Friday night but I already have plans to watch This Is The End.

I'm assuming ol' Bruce is still climbing to reach that 90% :hehe:

Seriously though, it's getting pretty apocalyptic over on the MoS boards right now. I really hope for all the diehard Superman fans' sake that they all love it and the mood takes a 180 turn after this weekend. It's unfortunate to see all that excitement turn into panic and doubt.

Yeah that topic in MOS boards is pretty funny :woot:

I dont understand the disconnection that seems to exist between the expectations and a Zack Snyder film. He's a pretty consistent guy. In his flaws and in his qualities.

And we're talking about a David Goyer screenplay.

BatLobsterRises , Nolan has the show me the money face :funny:

Nolan's face there is killing me. :lmao:

Christ, Nolan's face is killing the picture :funny:

So, since we are sorta talking about Man of Steel...I can't get into negative reviews that states this

The movie isn't dead on arrival, like Snyder's over-reverent Watchmen.

When I am a huge fan of the film, as Watchmen is in my top five favorite CBMs.

Yeah, Watchmen was very solid, though it is fair to say that many of its merits were provided by Alan Moore.

Edelstein seems to dislike most superhero/comic films. To each their own, but yea it just doesn't seem to be his cup of tea.
