Aw, shucks. I got no witty comeback to this. :csad:

You win this time. :argh:

Ahh, c'mon now. I had thought you would be able to have a great comeback to that.

I feel cheapened by this win because I think you can do better than raising the white flag already.

I come in peace.

I am a huge fan of The Dark Knight, is probably one of the best superhero movies, and probably movies overall too.
I only saw Rises once, in cinemas. And I decided not to watch it again because I thought it was so poorly, POORLY made.

I wanted to ask how is the film's reception now that it's on dvd/blu ray and people have seen it several times. I know that repeated viewings can change someone's mind, so I ask it became a better or worse movie?

For me personally I find myself skipping scenes in it, mainly ones that heavily involve Blake. I was critical of TDKR back when it came out, too, though I considered it a good movie and still do. It's just got a lot of flaws.

So if you disliked it a lot in the cinema then repeated viewings may not improve it for you. Unless you know of a time when you disliked a movie in the cinema then watched it again when it was released and then liked it?

I wonder what's the very first Bale/Hardy scene they shot... Was it mentioned anywhere? The first Bale/Ledger scene shot was the interrogation scene right? For TDKR, it has to be either the prison scene or the sewer fight because those were shot in the UK.

My feelings towards it improved significantly in my second viewing at the theater. I still think it was the weakest in the trilogy. It had a lot of potential that wasn't fully realized. I still enjoy re-watching it on Blu Ray (or TV like tonight) as long as I skip the parts that I don't like (mostly the 2nd act).

I feel the same way. :)

I went with a very good friend of mine, and we usually talk a lot about the movie after it's done. That time was... we couldn't stop bringing subjects and things that bothered us about it. It was like, the more we talked about it, the movie fell apart.

I can't remember if I disliked a movie and then liked it. I remember I was "meh" with Star Trek, but after seeing it a couple more times, it grew on me.

I feel like I need to give Rises a chance, but I can't pass the lazy writing. The entire police force is trapped? The city is isolated and nobody, nobody does anything about it? Where's the help? How does Bruce get back (and how re-enters the city?). There are very frustrating things about it that took me completely out of the movie.
Maybe I should leave it like that.

The government did sneak in those special ops guys, that was the help.

I would have rather had the government just totally abandon Gotham, like in No Man's Land, with no special ops forces being sent in to stop Bane; and just focus on Bane's revolution/the people of Gotham questioning the validity of Batman in response to Dent's transgressions coming to light.

Ok has anyone said anything about Bane's new voice? I watched the Dark Knight Rises on HBO tonight and it's totally different!

TDKRises is still my favorite film of the trilogy

Some may have questions and call them plot holes, but I don't view them as that. Commissioner Loeb sent the entire police force into one area without knowing what was really going on as well, the government didn't forget about Gotham City, and the film leaves these ideas open on how Bruce could have returned by showing how the Special Forces got into Gotham, by showing The Bat inside the siege area even when we last saw it inside the Batcave(as well as Wayne Manor was outside of the siege area...getting to Wayne Manor would have been easy as well).

Better.

Blake... eugh!! He's a complete blemish on this trilogy. I've tried many times to warm up to him, but it's just not happening.

You probably rewatch more scenes of it than I do. I usually just jump to the Bane scenes, otherwise its fast fast forward. Definitely the weakest part of the trilogy for me.

2nd October 2013...

Can't say I love the set design, but it's whats inside that counts.

Question to French Hypesters: how is 'Dark Knight' usually translated? 'Chevalier' wouldn't make much sense for a fellow rarely seen on a horse, would it?

Why not?

One of Chevalier's meanings is "a chivalrous man". That describes Batman. And Batman has plenty of "mounts" that he rides into battle. The tumbler, the batpod, and the Bat are all his mounts or steeds. Try not to be so literal.:D

Wait...it includes:

- Batman Begins (2 Blu-ray + 1 DVD)
- Batman - The Dark Knight, le Chevalier Noir (2 Blu-ray + 1 DVD)
- Batman - The Dark Knight Rises (2 Blu-ray + 1 DVD)
- 3 véhicules : la Batmobile (Tumbler), le Bat-pod et le Bat

Presumably those second Blu Ray discs will just be what already came with the Blu Rays currently out. I hope this isn't the Ultimate Set, if this is it. A gift set hopefully. Or a cheaper one and then the picture that was posted in the other thread with the drawings and other stuff included is the full Ultimate Set.

EDIT: I added together the runtimes according to IMDB, it comes out to 457. The runtime on this site says 458. So, I'm guessing there's no extended edition. Unless there's an added minute or so.
